Pokémon Shuffle now available on mobile (in Japan)

After being announced at the end of June, Pokémon Shuffle is now available to download on iOS and Android devices… if you live in Japan.

The app is a mobile port of the 3DS game in which players must match three or more Pokémon in order to clear each stage. For the most part the game remains the same though Facebook connectivity has been added, allowing players to support their friends by sharing mini hearts. Leaderboards and save data from the 3DS version of the game are separate from the mobile version and cannot be transferred.

(Just in case you needed a reminder of how the game will look)

It isn’t clear when the US and European version of the game will launch, though it’s safe to assume it will be soon. Pokémon Shuffle is a free downloadable game for iOS and Android devices.

  1. Should have been on Android in the first place. It’s a perfect fit for mobile. They should make these types of games for mobile and keep the main games on 3DS where they all benefit the most from the device.

  2. Pokemon Marketing Director Teases ‘Flowers’ in Series Future

We’re scratching our heads just as much as you are.

The future of Pokémon may involve “flowers,” as we learned in an interview with The Pokémon Company International’s Director of Consumer Marketing J.C. Smith, at the 2015 Pokémon World Championships in Boston, Massachusetts this past weekend.

While discussing the future of the Pokémon, we asked Smith to offer us a cryptic tease of that future.

“And last but not least, can you just throw a cryptic word out there? Just anything. Something will get me to scratch my head. That, like, in eight months I’ll go, ‘That’s what he was talking about!’”

After a pause, Smith’s response was “Flowers.”

In Pokémon X and Y, Floette is a flower-centric Pokémon with a currently unobtainable form integral to the main plot of the games. Additionally, while its special form, Eternal Flower Floette, has not yet been released officially, it can be obtained via cheat device. It could also refer to something from a currently unannounced game, as Pokémon in 2016 was a major part of the interview.

What do you think “flowers” refers to? Let us know in the comments, and look out for our full interview with J.C. Smith later this week.

    1. I think this was misinterpreted and supposed to be ‘flours’
Because xy was some ingredients like flour
      Oras was the other ingredients,
And those two are in most recipes, so basically next will be a mix of flour and other ingredients to make a kalos and hoenn game

    2. AZ’s Floette/Prequel
You also might want to provide a source and cite this 🙂

  3. I want to get back into playing pokemon, but I need to buy y a new 3ds…what would you pay for a used 3ds xl?

    1. Flowers is the japanese name of a new eeveelution like showers and thunders. It’s going to be a flower type which is new. And it can kill rock/ground easily.

  4. Now Flowers the very first thing that came to mind when the word flower was uttered was AZ’s Machine as that Red Albino called it “The Poisonous Flower”
And that can also very much point to the Eternal Flower Floette
So i figure that’s gonna play a humongo part as well
What about some disgusting Eternal Fairy Garden i mean that pest must’ve picked it from somewhere sacred

  5. what if this flower thing is a new type and it’s super effective against rock, ground and fighting types??? #Food4Thot

    1. Food type confirmed?? You gotta dig into the earth to plant crops, whose roots may eventually break rocks. Plus eating too much of the wrong food is bad for macho-men, makes them all flabby!

    1. Which is funny because roses are red, and violets are blue. Red and Blue Remakes confurrrmd!

  6. Eternal Floette certainly does make sense. As event Pokemon go I feel like it would b the most likely candidate. I can’t c them going straight to Volcanion as Hoopa isn’t even out yet in most of the world. So to me it makes sense as it could b a good non legendary event that doesn’t really need any ties to anything. This could also b a hint about the next games I suppose, but who knows at this point lol

  7. “Flowers” is a reference to Floaroma Town, which will be a highly important location to the plot of Spacial Ruby and Temporal Diamond. You heard it here first.

    1. With no lead up, no main games to accompany them, and after remakes this gen? I just don’t see it, but people also didn’t expect x and y so shortly after B2 and W2, and skipping a Gen for the RS remakes, it might happen, but don’t count on it.

  8. Interesting new teaser word, but I think it confirms a continuation to Generation VI more than anything. If anything else besides Floette/AZ screams “flower” to you, then please tell. I’m anticipating more into AZ’s background in this next game, or perhaps, as many have guessed, a XY prequel. Masuda has already de-confirmed Pokemon Z as the name for the next game, saying “For example, if after Black and White we came out with a Grey, people would have been expecting that,” he said. “Same thing with X/Y and having a Z straight afterwards. So we’re always just trying to surprise people.” Whether this means a sequel/remake under a name other than Pokemon Z is definitely plausible, but I think that hints we may be getting something we haven’t gotten before. We’ve had remakes and sequels. We have not had (direct) prequels, or cross-regional titles. If anything, a Kalos/Hoenn crossover would be great to finish up the (remake) Ruby/Sapphire saga and the X/Y saga, especially after Zinnia’s “multi-dimensional” theory. We could be seeing past games come back in the future under a multi-dimensional timeline. Just think about how different Red/Blue would have been had the supposed Pokemon War not taken place, or something of the sort, or if AZ had never built a weapon.

    1. I think you misunderstood Zinnia’s Multiverse theory. I believe that there is two Pokemon timelines. One where Mega Evolution, Advanced Technology, and Fairy-Type wasn’t discovered (Basically, all the games with Mega Evolution… Imagine an X/Y without Mega Evolution!) and there is another universe where Mega Evolution, Advanced Technology, and Fairy-Type was discovered. Basically, the timeline remains similar. Yet, just image all the old Pokemon Games with Mega Evolution. Anyways, I agree with you. I would love the see Kalos and Hoenn packed together. The regions aren’t too far apart hence the dude who swam the distance. If we don’t get a full Hoenn; then we could at least hope for the Battle Frontier.

Also, Remember Zinnia’s quote: “A Hoenn region that’s almost exactly like this one we live in. Filled with Pokémon and people like us. A world where maybe the evolution of Pokémon took a slightly different path, where Mega Evolution is unknown… A world where that war 3,000 years ago…never happened. A world where the ultimate weapon was never even built. And in that Hoenn of that world… What would happen if one day, out of the blue, a meteoroid appeared? What would happen to the people of that world, without the technology to destroy the meteoroid or the power to warp it away?”

  9. Odd question, do the fire, water, and grass pledge moves still have an effect on the field in x/y and oras?

  10. I believe that J.C. Smith comment just relates to AZ’s Floette. The event might be held in the next Pokemon Games. GameFreak might announce the new games in September because of the upcoming CoroCoro news. Yet, I do have some hope in my mind that this is refering to a new game. Who knows? We could maybe get another Grass-Type Legendary. :]

  11. Ok so Masuda is headed for London as we speak. Do we wanna believe that when he finally gets to Lyon in France they drop the announcement or at the very least an announcement for the announcement? lol

P.S. I feel kind of bad that this article was written about something that non of the conversations here will likely b about. It’s not u Mr. article, it’s the game ur about…..and us lol

    1. I would talk about the fame if it was in the US. I would download it and give mobile play a shot

  12. Finally getting a new, 3DSXL tomorrow! 🙂 where do you guys recommend getting pokemon games cheap?

    1. There typically $40/€35 dollars. So, I don’t think you could get it cheap. Your highly going to have to pay $80/€75 dollars for X/Y and OR/AS.

      1. I used to have x, y, and omega ruby, but I don’t have enough to get them all again, and I’m torn on what game to get first. Opinions?

  13. Flowers?

    AZ and Floette??

Maybe getting more storyline in the next game??

    Sounds like a good idea!

  14. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see Zinnia reappearing in Diamond and Pearl remakes too, because after all, her dimensional theory might be further backed up with the whole emphasis on time and space… It’s probably after that that we may start seeing something like Reverse Generations…

A Kanto with Mega Evolutions or a Kalos without them, as Afarr mentioned and I incorrectly mentioned. But I honestly doubt that. I don’t think they will reveal all of what Zinnia has to offer to the rest of the series–if anything–at once. It might take until BW remakes where she reveals her own personal “truths and ideals,” and might follow you into these Reverse Worlds. That would be kinda redundant as Mega Evolutions were just introduced, but according to my timespan distributions, we should be seeing BW remakes in 2022–7 years from now. By then, Mega Evolution won’t be a thing to cry about if we see it where it doesn’t belong and don’t see it where it should belong.

How this would fit into the timeline–I don’t know. The timeline seems to be split into a Pre-Mega Evolution period and a Mega Evolution (and Fairy type) period. This would probably be reversed, and doesn’t necessarily have to mean that the events of XY take place before R/B’s and anything that previously didn’t have Mega Evolution.

This really would change the course of how Pokemon games have been perceived by now, granted the fact that the news drought hasn’t gone to my head and I’m talking crazy. But I’m sure the Delta Episode was there for a reason–to continue. That’s why it’s an EPISODE and not a Delta Postgame or Delta Story. Episode 1 took us to the roots of this situation and skimmed the surface through a simple theory. Episode 2 (D/P?) might provide some concrete evidence of Zinnia’s multi-dimensional theory to the point where something can be seen and experienced, and actions can be taken. Episode 3 (B/W?) might be where things go down, and where more and more opposite occurrences are noticed. Imagine teaming up with Team Plasma and utilizing their technology to pinpoint where these “Reverse Events” are taking place. It would be in a “Reverse Generation” or something of the sort where things are actually explored, and players can be able to make connections between what could’ve happen and what they have seen happen. Perhaps they may be torn between reverse and reality. I’m way overthinking this one. Let’s just get Pokemon Z and get this over with. :/

      1. there’s no such thing as over thinking
we need to poke and prod ever nook and cranny to find out ever little detail, some folks are fine with what it is and just rolling with it but some go the extra mile

I do believe that GF is doing alternative timeline dimension theory
        where Mega Evolution is present

But this does not truly solve everything because Mega Evolution would’ve been present in earlier but we’re coming off that its still a fairly new concept in Pokemon history that still has many many questions and theories all too much to answer in one game

    1. Zinnia will likely pop-up in other games. Remember, the Draconids weren’t in the past games because none of the Mega Evolution events happened. It seems like Zinnia’s Multiverse Theory is correct in terms of the Pokemon Universe. She did talk about ideals and truths. So, she might appear in a Black and White Remake. X/Y is currently the last game in the Pokemon Timeline… so, I wouldn’t be surprised to see her in the next Pokemon game. Also, she went to go explore other regions so keep that in mind! 😉

  15. Flowers
The Kalos elite 4’names are all derived from flowers,so are some of the cities names and Zinnia’s. There’s also enternal flower floette and The Ultimate Weapon looks like a flower…sorta.
We’re obviosly getting a new Kalos games within an year,if “flowers” will play a key role in pokemon this probably means we’ll get a proper storyline detailing the war and AZ’s Backstory.
It could also mean that we’ll get more backstory about Zinnia as well.

  16. Grass type is the future with Grass Pelt, Flower Shield, Flower Veil, and Rototiller… so are flowers.

      1. It even makes it better.
Flower Shield is fairy type, but they are solely created to boost lovely Grass types.

          1. I’m not here for your pithless, belligerent, malapropos and infantile comments. I will be happy if you stay away from me.
