Although many fans wanted to see a Wii U title announced in the recent stream, a Tekken crossover title was shown and is confirmed to be arcade-only when it launches in 2015. Machamp and Lucario were seen fighting together and the Pokémon Game Show clip with Lucario and Blaziken was also seen before the reveal.

    This will be a timed arcade exclusive, then will come to the rest of the world in late 2015.

  16. I wonder if there’s going to be more than just fists and punches as attacks, like is “magic” an option? I know Lucario used aura but other pokes? I could see Gardevoir… and Gallade. Oh and I wonder if its just fighting type exclusive

    • The people at IGN are saying that Tekken games usually go to arcade before consoles. Also, there was a trailer released for English-speaking countries, and apparently it was teased in a Wii U Nintendo Direct. All signs point to it coming to the west at some point.

  27. So far two of the Pokémon revealed in the game have mega evolution. Why would they advertise Machamp in it? It’s the only gen one three line trio Pokémon without a mega, that being Alakazam and Gengar. Could this be hinting at Mega Machamp?

    • I still don’t see how its a “revolutionary” game or anything, unless it being an arcade game counts as that…
      I honestly didn’t mind seeing that it was revealed (i kinda expected it, even though i hoped it might be something else), but seeing it was an arcade game was kind of disappointing.

      • Not being rude to the Jungle. Yet, I believe it’s the PokeJungle’s stretched words. I knew it wasn’t going to be anything huge because of OR/AS. It wouldn’t be good marketing. I just hope the game releases on Wii U sooner or later.

        Plus, it’s kind of revolutionary because Pokemon has not had a straight fighting game. (If you don’t include Type Wild.)

          • I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about how PokeJungle said the games could change the series forever. Making it seem like it was going to be something grand. When it was simply a fighting game. Which is kind of new because Pokemon has never had it’s own fighting franchise.

  78. Really? That’s it? This is embarrassing for them.

    This isn’t an interview or video that just randomly happened – this is something they knew about months in advance, deliberately planned, and went through the effort of creating a teaser/trailer video for. And then they have the balls to announced that they were going to announce something “earth-shattering” in a few weeks, all for… This?

    Lucario’s model is either the same as Brawl’s or the one from Smash 4, and Machamp’s looks like a barely polished 3DS model. They both appear slightly higher quality because of the excessive filters, but otherwise these models were copy/pasted, barely tweaked, and then shoehorned overtop of human-based bipedal wireframes. That’s why Machamp’s second set of arms barely does anything – they weren’t programmed to because their just skinning an existing game that uses mostly human-shape characters.

    But that’s not my problem. Zelda is doing the same thing with Hyrule Warriors and it’s turning out beautifully. My problem is their presentation. They had all this time built all this hype just to show us two characters kind-of attacking each other on some very generic city/desert/field backgrounds? And because they’re both fighting types we get zero of what makes Pokemon interesting (variety, elemental abilities, colour) and instead get two dudebro-looking derps punchin’ and kickin’ and that’s it. They could have showed any number of characters other than just those two (we know Blaziken is in) and it would have been much better than this. Some artwork, a game screen or two, ANYTHING. This isn’t a teaser or a trailer and aside from the arcades-only info there’s really nothing revealed we didn’t already know just by looking at it. It’s just a boring tech demo and they already showed us that several months ago.

    Put some effort into your marketing guys, it’s sad and pretty annoying at this point. Or, if you can’t do that, stop using words like “earth-shattering” and similar – you clearly don’t know what it means. 😐

  86. I don’t know how many people care about this currently. Yet, Capcom is trying to sue Koei Techmo. Capcom only had 152 Million Dollars in the bank as of 11 Months ago. It’s to the point where Capcom could even be bought out (I think Nintendo should buy out Megaman, Monster Hunter and Pheonix Wright.)

    They want to sue Koei for about $9.43 Million Dollars. They’re just suing Koei for some supposed “game parts” such as the controller vibrating when enemies are close. Honestly, I just think Capcom is doing this for money. The haven’t released many good titles lately and they aren’t doing as good as before. Also, if you wanted to know Koei makes about 9.73 Billion yen in sales. (Sorry for this not being Pokemon related!)

    Namco Bamdai, Capcom, and Sega.

    Not that they are all readily available to buy, but the point is with their ips, and Nintendo’s. Then they own the industry.

    • I don’t think they could buy out Sega and Bandai Namco. Mostly because (I believe) they’re private companies. Capcom could be bought out by any huge company (aka Nintendo.). I just want Nintendo to pick up some games. Not all of them! 😉

          • I’m one of the people who judge a book “little bit” by the cover. I think the game seems a bit dull. The graphics look a little bit plan and bland. Also, the gameplay seems like it’s going to get repetitive.

            Yet, Sega is not developing the game. They’re publishing it. I believe Big Red Button is making it!

    Also, more DLC for the future was confirmed, with brand new characters from outside of the Mario universe! Along with new tracks from their respective games! There are also new karts and returning characters and new variants of characters!

  96. Hi. I work for Nintendo. I can confirm that Pokken Tournament will be available on Wii U next year. It will also be on PS4, 3Ds, 2DS, XBox 360, XBox One, Wii, Gameboy Advance, and PSVita. You can play online in various places across the Pokémon world, however only after you download an update that will take a few hours. When you beat the game you can get PAID DLC and unlock new Pokémon and Reggie Fils-Aime. Thank you for your time and I hope you buy our new game so we can continue world domin- I mean brain washi- I mean spreading the joy of Pokémon across the world for everyone to love.

  98. Today. Was a great day. I just finished the walking dead season two (Game, and cried a little- dat ending) AND Pokken Tournament was announced!

    I’m going to assume that Blaziken is going to be in it due to the picture from “Pokken Fighters”. Another interesting thing is that the only Pokemon shown have gotten megas (Blaziken and Lucario) with the exception of Machamp. Maybe, we can get a Mega Machamp in ORAS! It’s a real shame that this game is Arcade only (For now). It would be nice to play this on Wii U or 3DS. Both consoles which could totally handle it.

    I thought Pink Gold Peach was the end of the swaps…
    And I would rather have Dry Bones over Dry Bowser, but I’d take the excuse to put (a) Bowser in a lighter weight class.
    Excitebike course looks neat, and if there are no railings in that F-Zero Course (Mute City???) it seems like it’s gonna be worse than Rainbow Road…

    As for Link, I’d play him to be amused when he falls off the course and does the falling scream sound effect…

Okay i just heard enough about Pokkén to know i’m not buying its if its get a wii u release and get release outside of japan because its was confirmed on serebii that’s only fighting type pokemon will be available, Either nintendo and game freak and pokemon company and whatever company they are partner with put all the pokemon in glorious hd or make a stadium or XD type of game with all the pokemon and make them all in the glorious hd model like in Pokkén or its a no buy,

    And beside i don’t like most fighting type pokemon as must as i do with other i really like to use my favorite when i battle for fun and or competitively!

    And i really see a future for all of the pokemon on the wii u with the graphic of pokkén in glorious hd goodness after seeing that’s trailer,

  159. I have returned! I know that those who leave usually leave for about a month or more, but a good 9 days was all I needed. I’m all settled down in my new apartment!

    I may have overexagerrated in my farewell letter. Yes, I will still be very busy, but when I have freetime and I’m not busy doing something else, I’ll be here. 😀

    I set some rules for myself so I can dedicate enough time to reality and PJN/PNN. Most of the time, I may not be here. If so, you know why.

      • I’m not fancying it. Work Up isn’t that great (it’s no Swords Dance) and a bit too long to set up to +2.

        Why doesn’t it learn Crunch! :p

        Maybe I would stick with plain Toxic Stall. Here’s my move list.

        Toxic – the move
        Cotton Guard – the other move
        Return – consistent STAB damage
        Dig – handles non-floating Steel and Poison types, plus also makes Furfrou disappear for a turn to stall more

        I’m not kidding. I recommend Dig. And sadly, it doesn’t learn Earthquake either…

  191. We should do like a Commenter of the Month/Year or something, where we can host a poll (written response) and nominate Pokejunglers. Their avatar or something will be featured on the site’s wallpaper for that month or whatever.
    I think that’d be a cool idea.
    If the mods approve I can work on hosting this every month or something.
