This week is actually sort of a break for our cartoonist Zach Flavin, but he was kind enough to sketch something up quick for us 😀 We all have those days that just don’t quite go as planned, so in the comments I’d like to hear about your #worstdayever! Bonus points if it relates to Pokémon 😉

I’d have to say that last year when Pokémon X&Y information was coming out and my site was getting too much traffic which ultimately caused it to be down for about a week was the worst ever for me. Not fun at all 🙁

  4. Hmm… there was the time my dad had to “make a phone call” but instead went through my messages and found out that I’m gay. Then he wouldn’t talk to me for a month and kept saying “you’re not gay.” I started working for him later on and met my boyfriend. Fuck him. Anyway. #cuteprofilePJ

    • Sorry to hear that 🙁 Coming out can definitely be a struggle. I got to choose when I told my parents and luckily they were pretty supportive of me. Can’t imagine how hard it would have been if they weren’t.

  7. Just now out of depression I make a binge sandwich acidentally putting away the knife in the dirty sink before I could finish and to top it all off my large frame knocked the jelly jar off the table and shattered…life f*cking hates me

  9. My #worstdayever was when I ran into a shiny Abra in Heart Gold, it was the second shiny I had ever found. I was so happy to encounter it… I threw an ultra ball at it…and it broke out. Then it teleported away. Wherever you are Shiny Abra, I hope you are happy. #AbraKadabraAlakawhydidyouhavetoteleport

One of my worst days pokemon related is when my brother sold my Pokemon Red and Pokemon Crystal to his girlfriend when he was in 5th grade, and my parents refused to get mad at him : I cried about a week because I have created and started so much things in those games they were like my 3rd best friend to me.

      • Basically he got beat in MK8…a lot, and then he started to feel depressed and then revealed that he thinks he’s physically unattractive and a loser, but we tries to cheer him up. It didn’t go so well :/

          • my blaziken couldn’t kill it whatsoever! not even mega blaziken but out of nowhere my last pokemon is mitotic (i thinking that this was it) it ko’s it with hydropump! Im like “ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME POKEMON,” i could have done this from the beginning if i new lol! sometimes i think pokemon lose on purpose

  16. My worst day about pokemon was actually the 1st time I ever played pokemon – Pokemon Gold on the GB colour. I started the game and I literally couldn’t figure out how to exit my bedroom in the game. I almost cried, thinking I broke the game but then, miraculously, my mom came and played around with it and she got my character out. How was I supposed to know that red rectangle was the floor mat?!

  17. worst day ever was when my brother ERASED my saved file on EMERALD which had every SINGLE POKEMON lv.100 inkcluding my shiny altaria :……( and was in the process of training an armaldo which i was excited about! never have i ever have gotten the chance to train another armaldo.

  19. Worst day ever? Going to my Prom. I didn’t have a date and hung out with my classmates I barely knew. The music sucked, and the location could’ve been better.

    At least the food was good.

    I loathed High School. The only thing good about it was that I hung out with my friends (a class below me though).

        • no, that guy was always quiet and people made fun of him for playing pokemon at school! ! but if you ever ever say that “pikachu was a rat” he would go into outrage mode on you! IM SEROUS!!! that was the only thing that ticked him off XD!
          i had a class with him and this girl said it” next thing you know a rectangular blue box flys across the room and the girl gets knocked to the floor! LMFAO! too funny (he threw his ds at her (it was the first ds that came out, the fat one)).

      • Thank you Percy. It means a lot to hear you say that. We just had to be on opposite sides of the country. Who knows. Maybe it could still happen. There are fancy balls for adults (or that could only be in Medieval Europe, IDK).

          And I did 😀 There were some problems of course, like my friend that i like yet hate saying my problems were insignificant to hers because I had a ‘better family life’. My problems weren’t even about that!

            IDK where fancy balls are held nowadays. Would we have to travel to Europe just to attend one? That can’t be. 😀

            It be the perfect fairy tale! However, we could meet even before the ball. We'd meet each other at an airport (Florida or San Francisco, California). Get to know each other, be able to visit our homes briefly, and then travel to Europe for our ball! It'll be costly, but so worth it! 😉

            😀 Fairy tale? 😀 And so very worth it.
            Or, we meet in the airport, talk a bit, but then get separated on the plane and when we get there. We look around for each other yet cannot find the other. Then we go to the ball and find each other and fireworks will be present! 😀
            …Did that just come out? xD I get crazy at times xD

          • I like that story. Oh. We also try to call each other, but it has no effect because we can’t hear each other from the crowd and time is of the essence. Our phones still won’t work once we get off the plane because we won’t have International Coverage. We miss each other by 20 seconds when we check into our hotel. We realize that we have less than 8 hours to get ready for the ball, so we prep ourselves and leave it to fate to reunite us once more. 😉

            I just said that out loud and you did too. 😀

          • But we’re the best kind of dorks! The type who enjoy Fairy Tales immensely. Ever heard of the Red String of Fate? It’s what ties certain people together. Even when separated by time and space itself, the string will stay strong forever and ever. Nothing can ever change that. I could reserve the hotel first. I’d find the best and affordable one out there (if only I could just get a darn job)! We’ll manage. OMG when are you done with school? We’re both adults here ready to tack the Working World!

          • I meant college. I’ve got one more year of college left. I’m getting my Bachlor’s in Business Management. I hope to get something Human Resources related. Had I known I was going to focus on business as a child, I would have my future career planned a lot better. Good luck with that! 🙂 You can do it!     • I never got to go to a prom 🙁 Was in Japan my junior year and switched schools my senior year and it didn’t have one.

      Then one of my ex’s asked me to go with him so I broke up with my bf (one I’m still dating) but then ended up splitting with him before we went and got back together with Hiro.

    I guess when I found out that my friends took advantage of my shyness in elementary school and performed bad trades for all of my rare EX cards. Or perhaps when I found out how stupid I was to cut up my Wailord and Hitmonchan EX cards. Or, according to distant memory, when I found a shiny Drapion in the Pearl safari zone and it ran away. That’s everything Pokemon-related. Of course, there is other stuff that I’d rather keep to myself. 😛

    • I actually wanna change mine too. It’s the day I broke my GB colour. I pressed the a-button so many times it stopped working. Also the entire thing doesn’t even come on anymore 🙁

    • Had a similar experience. My Crystal cartridge would erase my save file I I didn’t play and save within 3 days. Had to start over a bunch of times. Imagine the horror I faced every time I left for some trip and forgot to pack my gameboy

      • OMFG! samething happen to my silver cartridge… until i “accidentally” swapped my best friends cartridge for mine without him looking XD! i use to play it on my super nintendo! pokemon on the big screen on a saturday evening was my hobby during elementary school!

  29. Ah, something I remember. Recently, I was handed a ticket for illegal parking when I was fetching my sister. Now I have to take a day off from work (probably a Thursday) go to city hall to bail out my license and pay it with my Super Smash Brothers for 3DS money.

    Haven’t used Amnesia on this one yet. Maybe later once I get the license back.

        I was actually shocked I didn’t get asked for a bribe, which is why I didn’t argue. The last times I was pulled over was already a couple of years ago and it was real obvious they wanted some spare change to let me off. This guy who got me was a really straight cop (if harsh on the parking law enforcement). Times have changed, I guess.

      • Depression is entirely mental, and cannot be overcome by mere thought. You must, MUST, have intervention to push through it. I know for a fact this is true because I had depression.

        • Depression and thinking to be depressed are two separate things, those who have depression are mentally proven to be depressed and need real medical and psychiatric help(like you had), but just claiming to be depressed and just not realizing the good things because of stubbornness, or just for attention (like many people nowadays) are just big silly billies who can’t even.

People act so goddamn spoiled sometimes, especially over social media, where they either A) make other people depressed by showing people an endless stream of the sh*t they own, or B) don’t appreciate what others have. All of this ends up causing what modern “teenagers”, if you can even call them that, “depression”. One example: “depression” which stems from not being able to see a friend. Who the hell cares about friends THAT MUCH? I’m sorry, I could ramble about my personal opinions forever. Too many people my age do not know the meaning of mental disorder.

  71. For Smash Pokemon league stage I hope you go to each room and you the hazard/ boss is the elite four main pokemon.
    In Wikstrom an Aegislash goes and Slashes everyone and if you try to hit it, it might use king Shield which Makes it like a counter and you fly back
    In Malva: Her TalonFlame just Keeps Brave Bird or Flare Blitz the field.
    In Drasna: Her Goodra continuously uses Dragco Meteor
    In Siebold: His Barbarcle can use Razor shell on people
    In Diantha her Mega Gardevoir uses powerful and big moonblasts

  99. Why does ORAS have to be such a complicated remake? Why can’t it just be like all the other remakes where we could just assume who the Champion would be. It’s so frusturating!!! Should I focus more on Fire, Ground, and Fighting towards the end or Electric and Grass?

    • I’ve never been a huge fan of people trying to make literal connections between Pokemon and real life. The games may take certain ideas from real life and implement them, but that by no means makes any war in the Pokemon world a direct connection to wars that happened in real life. I think when people do this it just confuses others and honestly I think it’s a little dumb to try and say that actual wars in the real world happened in the Pokemon world.

    • Shiny Charm isn’t required but it helps immensely. My first ever Masuda Method was in November, I didn’t even have the charm and hatched a Shiny Goomy in 11 eggs. (it had crappy Iv’s though cause I didn’t know about destiny knot or had a 6iv ditto)

    • I actually think Zygarde is very good. It’s like a mini-rayquaza competitively. Dragon Dance/Extremespeed. I mean, it got me 9th place in the spring friendly, I love my adamant 6iv zygarde XD

  356. Nearly done with Pyram! Just finished the backsprites this morning. (Shiny and Regular). Fixed the shiny front sprite. Made an icon for the party menu and a footprint. We just need a cry (No idea how to make those!). All i know is that they’re in .wav format. And i need to recolor the icon for the shiny version. Not making an overworld yet. There is a possibility. IF we implement walking with pokemon (Even if we limit it to just starters) or we have them outside of the pokeball when you choose them 😮

      • That’s a tough one. I’m not entirely sure. There are forums about implementing online battling. Not sure if that’s currently possible but I’m expecting that there will be updates to the program that we’re using in the future and we won’t have this game done for a while 😮 So, currently, it’s not possible, that i know of. In the future, it could be possible.

            An Adamant Priority Brave Bird Does 35%-41.6% With no crit

            But TTar can Take Both Flare Blitz and Brave Bird
            With Def as 132 it can take both as with 20.5-24.5%
            But TTar adds another pokemon weak to fairy

    It’s Mega Elektross electric/ghost
    It has levitate as it’s ability
    It’s body is composed of gas but it has a thunderbolt in its body, the four things on the side are it’s hands , the three triangles are it’s claws! It can vanish instantly and using it’s four claws, it grasps it’s prey and jabs them with its spiky ball thingy from its head sending 1000 volts through its victim’s body!

        All the pokes that evolve by stones are great as they are. Drought/Nasty Plot for ninetales, Swords Dance/Shadow Sneak for Gallade.

    • I know. Once Gallade was revealed, almost no one ever used Gardevoir again. I think it’s only fair that Gardevoir got the Fairy typing and Mega, and not Gallade.

      The problem? Gardevoir’s too good!!! What was supposed to be balance between the two, ended up being one outshining the other so greatly, that no one wants to use Gallade now. Now, Gen VII will have to give Gallade a Mega to make him popular again, but might risk making him too good again, thus overshadowing Gardevoir once more.

      And when you think about the Pokemon that evolved from evolutionary stones, they’re good as they are. They don’t even need megas:

      Ninetails – Drought – Nasty Plot
      Aegislash – Swords Dance – Shadow Sneak
      Ludicolo – Swift Swim, Unique typing.

      Mega stones are pretty much the stones like the regular evolutionary stones (thunder stone etc) except they were exposed to radiation. It makes complete sense when you think about it. This is why Gardevoir got a mega and Gallade didn’t, cause he evolves from stone.

    The eye on the left side of the screen looks odd as well as the nose circle thing cause they’re not colored in but this is the “skeleton” of the sprite. When i make them, i put em in different layers in case i screw up or need to readjust something. Also, using different colors to differentiate areas.

  479. Here’s my problem. E3 lasts for one hour on Tuesday morning from 9 until 10, according to the Twitch time slot. I have my final starting at 10:20. I’m either going to sprint out the door like Usain Bolt once it concludes, or leave five to ten minutes early. I really don’t want to do that, because of COURSE they’re going to have a big announcement at the end. I still have to figure out my game plan over the weekend.

    • Not sure because we’re just voting on the designs. Names can be suggested by anyone and often times, the creator doesn’t have a name for it. As for types, if it’s about regional bug and such, the pokemon should in most cases be pure bug until it evolves. Same with the regional birds being normal or normal/???. Regional birds vary more than bugs. So, for everything else, i’ll be sure to add the type if it differentiates from others.

    It has been confirmed that the episode of Pokémon Get☆TV that is due to air on June 15th is to feature a large scoop of the latest Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire information. As stated last month, the issue of CoroCoro, due out at the end of next week, promises to have new information as well so it is likely to be a repeat of that information.             It is so much deeper than that.
            I’m crazy for it like Donkey Kong is crazy for bananas, like the world is crazy for selfies and hastags.
            It is sacred to me. It is life itself.
            The meaning of life is Trick House, I have figured that out when I was in elementary school.
            It is the biggest priority, above all. Even food and water.
