Australia and New Zealand Regional Championships Announced

Nintendo has recently announced plans for the Pokémon VGC series in Australia and New Zealand. The best players will win travel awards to the Regional Championships, and eventually the Pokémon Video Game World Championships in August this year.

The Australia and New Zealand Regional Championships will take place at the following locations on the listed date:

Perth – Saturday 10th May
Adelaide – Sunday 11th May
Sydney – Saturday 17th May
Brisbane – Sunday 18th May
Melbourne – Saturday 24th May
Auckland – Saturday 31st May

The 2014 Pokémon Video Game World Championships will take place in Washington D.C. on the 16th and 17h of August this year where the new 2014 World Champions of the Juniors, Seniors and Masters divisions will be found.

This is kind of older news but it goes along with this article, so if you guys didn’t see it already Pokémon is accepting applications for commentators for the video game and tcg championships this year! All you do is email them and make a YouTube video of you commentating on a TCG or VG match and if they like you then you get to fly out to the events and be a commentator! Not sure if anybody’s into that stuff but I thought it was pretty cool and worth sharing!

  19. I’ll never be pro enough for these competitions. 🙁 But I can always still battle friends!
    Besides, theses are in Australia, New Zealand, and Washington D.C.

    I’m just sitting here in cozy old Florida. Here the weather battles each other like Kyogre and Groudon, if you know what I mean.

    • It was like every Abomasnow known to man vs. Groudon in the south and west this year. What’s so bizarre is that it’s still pretty chilly in some areas in the west.

  44. Did you know that you can unname a pokemon by taking it to the name rater and naming it the same name as the species it is? Once it evolves, it has no nickname.

    Say i rename the eevee “Eevee” when it evolves it’ll have the original name of the evo Ex. Flareon. Or if you want, you could name it False Prophet.

I nicknamed a shiny magikarp for a friend, he didn’t get X or Y cause his parents didn’t get it for him, i named it magikarp again and traded it on the gts while laughing cause i thought the person who received it would have a shiny gyarados named “Magikarp” this was not the case q.q

            All is well with me, thank you for asking. I’m midway through my Spring Break, and I have a HUGE project coming up soon, as well as two exams after this week. All in all, everything’s been amazing. School has definitely taken priority, but the last five days have been amazing. I’ve been free to have fun with my friends, and now it’s back to focusing on schoolwork in order to ensure a good end of year. 😀

            Anyways, I’m ecstatic to have you back. 😀

          • Yeah, school at this time (especially for me) is priority over EVERYTHING, which can get pretty annoying. Lucky for me school’s over in about a month and a half. Not quite yet in college. 🙂

            Oh Okay then…
            Dates back to the first time I got a Pokemon game, and it was Firered. I was astonished the first time that I found a Pikachu in the Viridian Forest, and I absolutely loved it! It was so cute, pretty powerful, and by that time I was also watching the Pokemon anime, and I loved the bond that Ash and his Pikachu had, and I wanted to have a similar bond with my own Pikachu. Anyways, I’ve always been a fan of the regional “cute rodent” every Pokemon game since, ever since I came across that Pikachu. From Pichu, to Plusle/Minun, to Pachirisu, to Emolga… and now to Dedenne. I find Dedenne the cutest because it’s my favorite type (Fairy), it’s tiny and fat (I love small cute things), and it seems like a spin-off of Pikachu. The similarities make me love it just as much. 😀

          • I really enjoyed reading that story :3 i’m glad you wanted to have a bond with your Pokémon instead of focusing on wether it’s perfect or not. My favorite pokemon is zard and Amarua XD i’m a real big fan of reptiles

    • I think you might have a different grading scale. I forgot to turn in a few assignments and i have to work on my proposal so i’d say i might have a B or a C. Currently, until my teacher grades my project that was in the no name box ._. (I emailed it, she printed it, but the document did not have my name on it and she didn’t write it on it – despite putting my name in the email)

      That’s interesting.xD We’re currently studying war photography cause the ACTs English portion is going to make us analyze images.

            my walreign was a Contest Star
            My Younger Brother’s was used in double battles with his Camerupt
            and my Youngest used a Spheal for a bit

            my Younger Brother undoubtedly is Flygon

            and my Youngest is Mudkip

          • I remembered Matt working night and day to level his Trapinch, also his Bagon
            He was going through a Dragon Phase

  104. We need a peacock Pokemon, similar to Gardevoir evolution line. Make the male evolve into Fighting/Flying. Make the female evolve into Fairy/Flying.

    I just got finished watching Kung Fu Panda 2, and was inspired by Shen xD
