This month’s CoroCoro has leaked and revealed a brand new game that is to come out in Japan, on the 3DS, this winter called Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth!
Not much about the game is known as of yet, but here’s a quick list of what we know so far:

- You play as someone who has mysteriously turned into a Pikachu
- Your partner Pokemon can be either a Snivy, Oshawott, Tepig or Axew
- This game doesn’t seem to have more than one version, as opposed to the previous Mystery Dungeon games
- You get Quest Requests from Dunsparce
- Pokemon from all Gens seem to be in this game, primarily Gen. V Pokemon though
- One of the main features in the game is the ability to scan an AR code or something similar to it. When doing this you will open a Magnagate which will give you access to brand new dungeons
- Kecleon returns to the game as the owner of the Goods Shop
- Rampardos runs the Treasure Shop
- Cofagrigus and Cincchino run unknown shops
- The game is completely in 3D

At least some people will be happy about this. I’m not really a fan of MD games but I’ll play them (what do people like so much about them?
The stories in the PMD games are a lot deeper than the main ones, Gen V possibly excluded. Did you ever finish Time or Darkness? Seriously one of the most moving moments in pokemon EVER.
The climax of Mystery Dungeon Sky involves three characters who just braved the bleak future, and have made the sun rise for the first time. However as the sun rises, they begin to perish. One of the characters actually dies on-screen, and the other two admit their love for one another.
I won’t spoil anymore of the story, but the plot is a lot deeper than what you would find in the main Pokemon series.
yes yes YES. Though the only draw back I have is that you have to be Pikachu…but asdfghjkl dang it I’ll just look past that for now.

i was kind of excited.. except for being pikachu.. I WANT TO BE MY OWN CHARACTER. Not pikachu. I will not be buying this. -.-
Can you really only be pikachu… But being a Pokemon that suits your personality was a big part of the originals for me.. 🙁
You aren’t restricted to being only Pikachu. It’s been reported that you got other choices too like Snivy, Axew, Oshawott, and Tepig. And it’s a Mystery Dungeon game so of course they’re no doubt going to have previous gen Pokemon as well to be choices.

Actually, it says Snivy, Axew, Tepig, and Oshawott as /partners/. The main character, however, seems to be restricted to Pikachu.
I don’t necessarily like this, honestly. The personality test in the beginning of the first PMD is what attracted me. :c Oh well, I’ll get used to it. 3D PMD is cool~

most likely in 2014 they’ll start talking about gen 6. 2013 will be spin offs like this and maybe a remake.
The only thing that disapointed me in this new upcoming game which I HOPE is just a speculation;
You play as pikachu
And the only partner pkmn you’ll have are those.
Is the personality test still engaged with this game??? I reaaaallly hope so.. that’s where all the fun is. Also knowing there is a countless of oppurtunities of what pokemon you’ll be.
The story engages the whole curiousity/creativity more
