Owners of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will soon be able to get Shiny Koraidon and Shiny Miraidon for the first time. The Legendary Pokémon have been “Shiny-locked” in the games, meaning that they cannot be encountered in their Shiny form during regular gameplay.
There are some caveats though — you’ll only be able to get Shiny Koraidon in Pokémon Violet and Shiny Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet. The code cards for this Mystery Gift are also only distributed in stores. Read on to find out how you can get your hands on one.
How to get the Shiny Koraidon and Shiny Miraidon Mystery Gifts

Players can get a Mystery Gift code card that will reward Shiny Koraidon in Pokémon Violet and Shiny Miraidon in Pokémon Scarlet at select stores depending on your country:
- United States: GameStop
- Canada, Australia and New Zealand: EB Games
- Japan: Pokémon Centers and various game stores and convenience stores
- South Korea: Various game stores
- France: Micromania
- Spain: GAME
- Mexico: Game Planet (Starts Oct 4)
- Netherlands: Intertoys
- Switzerland: Softridge

The promotion runs from September 26 until October 15, 2025, while supplies last. There is no purchase necessary to receive a code.
GameStop code restock

After widespread disappointment of fans in the US about lack of codes, GameStop has announced a restock of code cards! They are available from today, October 4. EB Games in other regions has also hinted at a restock.
The new codes will be printed on receipt paper but still do not require a purchase. Stores have been given a hard limit of 50 codes to distribute, unfortunately.
Thank you to fans who took the time to report issues obtaining a code to Pokémon’s support which helped highlight the problem.
Weren’t able to get a code?
As of October 9, some fans have reported success contacting GameStop’s support number: 1-800-883-8895 (when prompted, press 3, then 2). You can explain that your local GameStop ran out of codes. They may ask for your phone number and email.
Alternatively, you can reach out to their support email: [email protected].
How to report feedback on this event
Unfortunately it’s been reported that GameStop locations may have only gotten as few as 50 codes each — and the Mega Evolution TCG expansion launch on the same day also attracted scalpers to stores. Feedback about this type of distribution and the lack of Mystery Gift code cards to Pokémon can be submitted at this link! There is an option to select ‘Character distribution event’ and ‘Problem obtaining code’.
Rude or disrespectful messages will not help change future events! Please offer well-written and polite feedback for their team managing these distributions.
To redeem the code, players can use the Poké Portal’s Mystery Gift option and then choose the “Get with Code/Password” option and enter the code.

Shiny Koraidon features a dark grey body, while Shiny Miraidon has a white or silver body.
