The Pokémon World Championships have wrapped up now and during the closing ceremony, new information about Pokémon Legends: Z-A and other titles was revealed!
Online battles confirmed for Legends: Z-A
Up to four players can now compete with each other in a unique new way:
Up to four players can take part in battles where they attempt to defeat as many of each other’s Pokémon as they can within the three-minute time limit.
When any of your Pokémon faint, you will return to your starting point and reenter the battle with all your Pokémon fully recovered. Defeating an opponent’s Pokémon earns you a point, and those points determine your ranking. Mega Power orbs, which can be collected to Mega Evolve your Pokémon, may also appear around the stage, as well as items to boost your Pokémon’s stats temporarily.
Next year’s World Championships will take place using Pokémon Champions
Fans will be competing in the new Pokémon Champions games for the World Championships next year! Mega Evolution will also be able to be used in the competition.
In addition, a new accessory for Champions has been revealed: the Omni Ring. It contains a Key Stone to allow players to access Mega Evolution and additional features will be added in the future! We can see the Z-Move icon and what’s probably the Terastal symbol as well.
This means that gimmicks that were previously limited to specific generations may be easier to access and utilize at any time for online battles. Hopefully we’ll get more details soon!
