The latest expansion for the mobile Pokémon TCG Pocket game has been announced as Wisdom of Sea and Sky and centers around the Legendary Pokémon Lugia and Ho-oh! It will be launching in the game worldwide on July 30, 2025.
The Wisdom of Sea and Sky expansion will be focused on Pokémon from the Johto region and introduces Pokémon with attacks that don’t have energy requirements. Those attacks are denoted with a new silver icon instead of an energy symbol.

Updates to the trading system
In addition, TCG Pocket will be making changes to the in-game trading functionality as outlined below:
- Wishlist Feature: Players will soon be able to share which cards they would like to trade for when trading with others. They can navigate to their wishlist from the My Cards screen, where they’ll be able to add up to 20 cards, as well as highlight three cards from their wishlist to display on their profile.
- Revisions to Trade Feature: Trade tokens will be discontinued, and players will no longer need to exchange cards to obtain the currency required for trading. However, shinedust will be required to trade cards of ♦♦♦, ♦♦♦♦ and ★ rarities. Players can acquire shinedust by completing in-game missions and achievements or by obtaining duplicates of cards they already own. Players can exchange trade tokens they own for pack hourglasses and shinedust in the in-game shop.[1] Players will be unable to trade cards in their possession for trade tokens beginning July 29, at 6 p.m. PDT, following completion of the in-game update.
