While we got our first tease of the Mega Evolution expansion during the Pokémon Day Pokémon Presents video earlier this year, more information about the set has been released today. It will be the first expansion in new Mega Evolution series of sets, meaning we will be moving on from the Scarlet & Violet era of expansions. It will be launching on September 26, 2025.
As you would expect from the name, the expansion will be bringing back Mega Evolutions and includes cards such as Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. The Mega Evolved Pokémon ex cards will award 3 Prize cards when defeated, so their strategic use will be key.
The set will contain:
- 10 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- 22 illustration rare Pokémon
- 22 ultra rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Trainer cards
- 10 special illustration rare Mega Evolution Pokémon ex and Supporter cards
Fans will be able to buy booster packs, Elite Trainer boxes and other card collections when the sets release starting in September.
The expansion will be added to the Pokémon TCG Live game on September 11 ahead of its physical release.
