While Pokémon fans went in with tempered expectations, the Nintendo Direct started with a look at the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet DLC The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero!

Some new details for The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC have been revealed:
- In Part 1: The Teal Mask, players will use Mossui Town as a base of operations during their school trip
- A new ability called Toxic Chain is the signature ability of Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti. May badly poison an opponent when they attack
- In Part 2: The Indigo Disk, players will travel to Blueberry Academy, which is home to the undersea facility known as the Terarium
- Terarium has four areas which each feature unique biomes which are home to different species of Pokémon
- Terarium has unique ceiling and walls which will change with weather and time of day
- Players will meet new characters at the Blueberry Academy, including its directory Cyrano and second-year student Lacey
- Gligar is exclusive to The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero in Scarlet, while Aipom is exclusive to the DLC in Violet

New Tera Raid Battle event and Mystery Gift for Scarlet & Violet
In addition, a new Tera Raid Battle Event has been announced for Scarlet and Violet, featuring Chst Form Gimmighoul! Runs June21 to July 2.
Players can also receive 10 Nuggest, 10 Rare Candies and one Friend Ball using the Mystery Gift code ‘TREASUREHUNT’ in Scarlet and Violet! Be sure to redeem before it expires on July 31.
