The Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series hasn’t seen a new release in almost three years and 2020’s Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX was a remake versus a brand-new adventure. Fans are eager for a new title that expands upon the gameplay and world previous titles have established.
Hints that a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon announcement is coming on Pokémon Day?
Yesterday we reported on the Pokémon Together campaign, part of 2023’s Pokémon Day celebrations, which also came with its own website. Web-savvy fans have noticed a particular line in the site’s language JSON file: a copyright inclusion for Spike Chunsoft, the developers behind the Mystery Dungeon games.
No other game developers outside of Pokémon’s usual fare are included, which makes Spike Chunsoft’s inclusion particularly interesting.
While the GameBoy Advance inclusion in the Nintendo Switch’s online subscription pass could be another reason for its mention, usually those copyright notices include the year of the game’s release, not one that extends to 2023.
This is purely speculation for now, so don’t get your hopes up too high! But let us know what you think this could mean in the comments below or take the discussion to our Discord server!
