Our friends at PokéBeach are reporting that GameStop may be hosting a shiny Eternatus giveaway event similar to the shiny Zacian and Zamazenta event last year.
Since Pokémon Sword and Shield are the only current games which Eternatus exists in, it stands to reason that the Mystery Gift will be redeemable in those two games, not Pokémon Legends: Arceus or Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. It’s worth noting that you cannot catch shiny Eternatus through normal gameplay in Sword and Shield because it is shiny-locked, so this giveaway would be the first time fans can legitimately obtain one.
No further details are known at this time and the current GameStop employees I talked to had not heard of this event, but we’ll be sure to update the site when (if) there’s an official announcement.
