Pride Month is a time for members of the LGBTQ+ community to come together, recognise what makes them beautifully unique and push forward to achieve the equality and respect everyone deserves. If all are seen and accepted as equal, all are stronger.
PokéJungle has and always will be a community where all are welcome. Our team is formed of members who are all a part of the LGBTQ+ community or are strong advocates of it. We all take pride in who we are and what we stand for. However, we know there are countless LGBTQ+ members of the Pokémon community who are struggling to find acceptance both on and offline. This is for those people: you are unique, you matter and you always will.
If Pride is about celebrating equality and the freedom of self-expression, then we at PokéJungle are striving to make a place Pokémon fans across the world can connect and build towards that equality and freedom, making the world a more inclusive place. For the month of June, we ask all of our community members, readers and followers, to celebrate Pride and the wider LGBTQ+ community across the globe with us!
A note from PJ:
If you are American, like me, you have seen that LGBTQ+ rights are currently under attack throughout the country. Whether that’s healthcare for transgender people or even the U.S. Supreme Court questioning its previous ruling that legalized same-sex marriage, as the recent leaked draft of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization ruling did, our community may be in for a tough stretch of time. We urge our readers not take for granted the rights we already enjoy and fight for people who face discrimination, threats of violence and who are made to feel ashamed of who they are. Not just in America, but all over the world.
While it’s difficult for us to completely tie celebrations to Pokémon, we’d like to invite everyone to celebrate with us on all of our social platforms and voice your support, or reach out to us about anything and everything!
We’ve also got a special channel active on our discord server specifically for Pride Month and would love for anyone to join, to discuss and take part in celebrations!

Wrapping up
As we close out this article, we’d like to make it clear that we understand Pride Month should also be a time to learn and discover new things. Because of this, we’d like to share a few resources that we hope offer new awareness to anyone who may need it, but also offer avenues of support should they be needed…
The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis aversion organisation for LGBTQ+ individuals. Their site contains tons of resources to educate on matters from sexual orientation, to mental health. Perhaps most importantly: their site provides help for those in need, 24/7.
Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where equality is for all, not just for some. By mobilising, educating and advocating for the support of all members of the LGBTQ+ family, they strive to break down the barriers that divide us.
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center is a New York City organization that advocates for and assists queer people and especially queer and trans people of color.
Stonewall is Europe’s largest LGBTQ+ rights organisation, imagining a world where all are free to be themselves and live their lives to the fullest. A large part of the organisation is dedicated to creating a world where all children and young people have access to LG BTQ+ inclusive education.
