More Pokémon Day details revealed

A post to the official Pokémon site has revealed more of what is in store for February 27, Pokémon Day.

We’re getting ready for fun events on February 27, better known around the world as Pokémon Day! It’s the day the first games in the Pokémon video game series, Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green, debuted in Japan in 1996. Recognized by fans around the world, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the world of Pokémon.

But before we can get there, we need input from every Pokémon fan. With the help of Google, we’re holding a Pokémon of the Year competition where you can vote for your favorite Pokémon. The voting period is from Wednesday, February 5, at 6 a.m. PST through Friday, February 14, at 5:59 a.m. PST.

To participate, search for “Pokemon vote” on Google. The voting screen will be displayed in your search results. Select the category you want to vote on from the eight choices. Then select one Pokémon from the list (sorted by National Pokédex number) and click the vote button. When you’re signed in to your Google account, you can cast one vote per category for a maximum of eight votes daily. You can vote only once in each category per day, but you can vote each day during the voting period. Votes will be counted based on the Pokémon’s National Pokédex number, even for Pokémon that have multiple forms, including regional forms.

Pokémon GO is getting a head start on the Pokémon Day excitement. Starting on Tuesday, February 25, keep an eye out in the wild for Pikachu and Eevee donning their party hats, as well as Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle sporting the same festive look and hatching from 7 km Eggs. In celebration of the Pokémon Day launch of the movie Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolutionon Netflix, special Pokémon clones including Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise will start to appear in Raid Battles. Plus, be sure to take a lot of pictures—you might notice that clone Pikachu will want to be in the shot, too. Finally, each day you’ll be able to complete two Special Trades instead of just one. There may be even more special events on the way, too, so check back soon for details. These events will take place every day through Monday, March 2.

Look forward to even more Pokémon Day fun, including the big reveal of a special, newly discovered Pokémon! There will also be news and updates for Pokémon Masters. Some special Max Raid Battles in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will also launch that day. And remember, the full-length movie Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution will arrive on Netflix on Pokémon Day, too.

Be sure to visit Pokemon.com regularly as we’ll have updates as to what you can expect on Pokémon Day.

Who will you vote to be Pokémon of the year? Be sure to participate in this fun collaboration with Google!

  6. Special Max Raid battles that launch that day?
Well GMax Toxtricity appears this Friday…

I wonder if this is the Meltan/Melmetal distribution I’ve been waiting on. Since a GMax Melmetal would have to be caught, meaning if a Meltan is added to the games it would have to evolve without Go.
I hope so. It’ll complete my 890 living dex.

    Johto: Heracross/Donphan
    Hoenn: Aggron

Hoenn: idk Hoenn’s hard for me because I hate half the region and love the other half. Banette or Metagross maybe?
    Sinnoh: Roserade
Unova: I love Unova as a region but honestly I find the Pokemon pretty lacking compared to those of other regions. Stoutland, maybe?
    Kalos: Florges
    Alola: Incineroar
    Galar: Rillaboom

  9. Toxtricity
    (Amped Formed)
    A high-voltage guitarist
To generate electricity, it breaks down the poisons it takes into its body. During the process, Toxtricity stimulates its chest intensely, which produces a thrumming sound like a stringed instrument. It’s said to sound like a melody played on an electric guitar.

    Dynamic and aggressive
Amped Form Toxtricity is extremely confident and short-tempered. When its eyes meet those of a person or another Pokémon, Toxtricity approaches them aggressively and attacks them, no matter who or what they are.

    Low Key
    A high-voltage bassist
It has an electrical organ on its chest and generates electricity by strumming this organ. The organ is said to be very dangerous, capable of generating 15,000 volts of electricity. While generating electricity, Low Key Form Toxtricity produces a rhythmic sound like an electric bass guitar keeping a precise beat.

    Low-key yet provocative
Low Key Form Toxtricity holds its own strength in high regard and often acts selfishly. When it meets a person or another Pokémon, it won’t initiate an attack, but it will taunt them until they start a fight.

  10. Watched Lego Masters on Phox
It was… interesting but Will Arnett kinda steals every scene

The designs were phenomenal but it kinda makes me feel like I could never construct anything half as good without a really good idea.

And I would murder literally anyone in the world for a chance to work in that workshop. My stupid little dream is building a great Lego workshop filled with every type of brick imaginable so I could spend my days just assembling whatever my brain can think of, it’s essentially my Valhalla

    Reply
    • I think we have a version of that here. Not anyone as good as Will Arnett hosting though.

I would love to do that myself, though I’ve not had any Lego for quite some years now, I’d soon get stuck back into it.

    Sinnoh: Lucario

  13. Pokemon has decided it wants as little types as possible, and has asked you to help them in this endeavour. You may only remove up to three types and the rest must be compressed into other types. How do you accomplish this?

Don’t worry about type match ups, this exercise is almost purely based on type theme and aesthetics as well as IRL connections.

  14. Have to display my grief. I just encountered a shiny Gigantamax Corviknight and I’m so bummed since I didn’t manage to catch it I hate this so much 🙁
What Poké balls do you use in max raid battles

    Reply
  15. I saw one of the worst trade deals ever today

Some guy found shiny Charmander raid his price to do it

3 kinds Apricorn balls for 1 try
A Master Ball (note I think it once again is a one and done deal in SwSh) for 3 tries

If you fail you must repay the exact amount

  16. Oh yeah posting this before I forget. I’m delaying my sword playthrough for now. Just having trouble getting into it for now so I’m replaying an old psone game instead. May actually restart my sword playthrough on Pokémon day. And yes I’ll still be picking Scorbunny! https://youtu.be/bGjYMAqDnMs

  17. It REALLY sucks that you cannot transfer save data on Animal Crossing New Horizons between consoles…I don’t understand why Nintendo would do this. If you break your console or want to upgrade to their supposed “Switch Plus” that comes out this same year you’re out of luck. Kind of embarrassing

  18. “Gigantamax Toxtricity with Amped Form being available in Sword and Low Key Form being available in Shield. This is the only way to get Gigantamax Toxtricity in the game. It also features Gigantamax Kingler & Gigantamax Grimmsnarl in Pokémon Sword and Gigantamax Orbeetle & Gigantamax Hatterene in Pokémon Shield.”

  19. Attention underlings cherished compatriots

I am in a extremely dire need of a Thick Fat Swinub to finish my Galar Ground Mono team in order to mop the clock of one of my associates

I got lucky with my Yamask and it only took 10 eggs so all I need is a Thick Fat Mamoswine but my stupid brain demands it be in a Premier Ball or Timer Ball because I’m officially one of those guys who needs their teams in unique PokéBalls

So if anyone has one I’m more than willing to give something of good or equal value I have a lot of perfect and near perfect level Ball Silicobra and a Duraludon or literally anything I can give, but I’m gonna be gone in the afternoon so no rush…. but I need it by tomorrow

  20. Well just finished playing Tomba again. Can finish it so much quicker now since I pretty much know where everything is. Still this game means so much to me. Was one of the first games I ever played and is the game that got me so into gaming. It’s a shame the company went out of business. Would have loved to get more games from the series besides just the first two. Either way the first game will always have a special place in my heart. https://youtu.be/zwHZoXRmKuo

Episode 1104: Snow Day: Where is Cubone’s Bone?
Stop returns home to see his parents and grandmother, only to find a Cubone being attacked by a Mankey nearby. (Normally i would never harm a Mankey but i will tear them limb from limb if they so much as look at a poor sweet innocent Cubone the wrong way)

Episode 1105: Ash Has Been Cursed…!
Weird things start happening in the lab due to the Gengar that keeps appearing, and Ass starts to act possessed. I mean Ash-hole isn’t too bright so possessing his mind wouldn’t be a grand feat

    Mewtwo, no competition
    Rayquaza, no competition
Lucario, runners up were Glaceon and Torterra
Decidueye, Lycanroc was my other choice and if it were any closer i’d have flipped a coin
    Runerigus, no competition

probably gonna go with typhlosion, haxorus, and noivern for the rest. but i’ve got plenty of time to second guess myself on johto and unova, so who knows

  28. Ice Scales Frosmoth is really good on a Rain Team as it gets both Weather Ball and Hurricane which can be very useful for it. Issue is using it only against special attackers, because any physical move is gonna squash it.

Hah! People told me that my “free Pokebank through multiple profiles” idea was not real because you supposedly needed a Nintendo Online account for every account, but turns out I was right!
