Nintendo Switch Weekly (4/20 – 4/27)

This week was a fairly packed with Switch news from Nintendo, including the retirement of their president, Tatsumi Kimishima, and the rise of their upcoming president, Shuntaro Furukawa! We wish him the best of luck in running the company! As for the Nintendo Switch, here’s the news:

Nintendo LABO is Released

  • Nintendo LABO is now available worldwide! After a week of it’s release, people have already been showing their creativity in more ways than Nintendo intended. For example, using the LABO piano (and a computer) to make professional beats. What other ways can LABO be used? Will more LABO kits be available in the future? And if so, what will they be?

Splatoon 2 Update: v3.0

  • Splatoon 2 has recently updated to v3.0, the update which was shown in the direct in March. It features a new rank called Rank X, new music, new weapons, the return of Callie, and more!

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Update

  • A new update for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has come! This update adds a new blade for Tora, and another blade. Not much more will be added in this update.

Sonic Mania Plus Coming to Nintendo Switch

  • Sonic Mania Plus is an update for Sonic Mania that features Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel, as well as an encore mode and 4-player co-op. Sonic Mania Plus will release July 17th!

Nintendo Releases Plans for E3 2018

  • The Nintendo NY Twitter account has released a small list of plans for E3. This list confirms that Smash for Switch will be the main focus of the E3 video presentation, which will be held June 12th! Smash for Switch was also confirmed to be shown at the Treehouse, and the Smash Invitational will be held right after that! Who’s hyped for E3 2018?!
