Pokkén Tournament Information Revealed

During a Famitsu NicoNico stream (which included porn and a man in underwear and a bra before the Pokémon segment) more information about the upcoming arcade title Pokkén Tournament was revealed.

We’re currently covering the stream and will update here with new information:

  • Suicune, Gardevoir, and Pikachu confirmed as fighters
  • Controller shown, rather simple set up
  • Support Pokémon can be used in battle
  • Battle options include single-player, local multi-player, nationwide multi-player and tutorial

  7. Suicune and Gardevoir are extremely random,but Awesome choices,and of course Pikachu is their like always..

    Mewtwo and Charizard are obviously going to be in.

    • You get three different pokemon (Sylveon, Mismagius, and Froslass for ex), mix two of three separately for each combination (Mismageon, Sylvlass, and Frossmag), then lump those fusions into one final fusion of all three.

      If this (or any of these Pokemon) were real, it’d so be on my team, as I love all three Pokemon.

    • It’s got a very interesting feel to it. I mean it’s Tekken, but with the Pokemon characters instead it’s got a whole new dynamic that I can’t put my finger on. Either way I’m super excited and can’t wait to c if we can get it on the Wii U. I look forward to seeing more of this

    • The more I watch this gameplay footage the more intrigued I get. It”s just so up my alley. I love Pokemon (obviously) and I also love fighting games (Excited for Mortal Kombat X!!!). If the conditions r met, this could possibly become my all time favorite Pokemon spin off ever! I wonder if there will b a story mode at some point……..lol

  13. This is one of the things I’ve wanted for a long time when it came to Pokemon. It’s nice fighting in battles, but I’ve always been a fan of Tekken, and this looks so good. I’ve always wanted to actually control a Pokemon and physically fight within a game. If this is ever made for the Wii U, I’d be all over this. (don’t need to guess who I’d main)

  14. I can see them using a lot of Pokemon in this, that arnt neccesarily fighting types but have a short fighting back story. As well as some listed like Samurott. I won’t list fighting types for obvious reasons 🙂

    I would love to see them use Feraligatr, Weavile, Blissey, Gengar, Kangaskhan, Lopunny, Electivire Magmortar , Golem, Simisage Serperior, Mewtwo, Krookodile, CactureShiftry and NidokingQueen. I could list more but I won’t take any more of ur time ha

    For Bird or flying type if we get some i expect Dodrio and Staraptor. They would have a unique fighting style.

  20. I’m stunned that they added a Quadrupedal Pokemon. Suicune was the biggest surprise for me. Hopefully, it’s moveset will be sweet. Also, Pikachu is look dope with it’s awesome poses. This game is shaping up to be fun. Let’s just hope for a future Wii U release.

  22. This game just got so much better (which was hard to achieve since I loved it from the start) now that Suicune is in it. My favorite legendary pokemon as a playable character in such a realistic looking game is a dream come true!

  31. Gardevoir is no surprise, should we expect Lopunny as well? Suicune though.. That surprised me. He isn’t bipedal, so he should be an interesting character.

  33. From watching the footage of Pokken a few times now I’m starting to notice the Pokemon in the background. I saw Heatran, Sableye, and Archeops in the Volcano stage and Pidgey, Heracross, and Volcarona in the town stage. I wonder if that means that non of those Pokemon r playable or whether they’re just there as scenery.

  72. So Serena’s Fenniken evolves into a Braixen, Clemont’s Luxio also evolves, So does Jessie’s Pumkaboo,but oddly not James’ Inkay..

    Ash’s goomy is nowhere to be seen, Gothita and Noibat are also on the poster..

  74. Uxie sucks, i still haven’t found it, i go to the nameless cavern but it doesn’t appear at all.

    Serebii says that the time to find it is between 20-21:00 but iy doesn’t appear!!

  75. I love Wonder Trade!!

    While trying to Wonder Trade with a twitch streamer, I got a legit lv100 Japanese Competitive Shiny Garchomp holding a Life Orb and a lv19 legit Shiny Raichu!

    Also got a lot of pokemon I can use for breeding!

      i’ve only gotten like 2 shinies and both of them were hacked
      i mean a 6iv shiny ditto is cool but seriously what’s the point of giving away a shiny serperior if its not the right nature or have any IVs, and it was totally a hacked shiny

            All i ever get is Santalune and route 1 fodder

            and every other day i hear none-stop of people getting rare and shiny Pokemon over WT while i give my leftover egg moved competitive natured Pokemon for Weedles and Zigzagoons

          • Hey, I also give out my 4 egg moves HA up to 5 iv’s…
            If you wanna increase your chances to get a shiny, you can try to enter a wondertrading stream particularly on holidays and wondertrade when they do.

          • No offense but that’s bull
            Maybe i’ll just mass breed Stunfisks all nicknamed “Screw You” and just WT for 24 Hours straight, maybe then i’ll get a Shiny Competitive Garchomp (Though granted i hate the shiny color both normal and mega)

          • It’s not as bull as you may think… the last 3 times I partaken in those streams I got a total of 6 shinies, 5 of them from either the streamers or the viewers. OF COURSE, if you believe that the streamer themselves is distributing hacks, well we can’t fix that… though you can just switch to a different streamer. I recommend LadyVelexis or FairySylveon for this purpose.

  81. Was I the only one who didn’t evolve there chespin till level 35? I still can’t stand quilldan design. It’s so derpy and reminds me of humpy dumpty. I feel like I’m losing brain cells just looking at it

    • picky picky picky, i loved my Quilladin just the way he was, everyone expected some sharp clawed chestnut rodent thingy. but instead of following the expected they took a big left turn, also nobody expected Fennekin to go bipedal but nobody complained T_T

        • The greatest disappointment was Delphox. Braixen was perfect but when she turned into that steaming puddle of cat piss I had no choice but to restart and choose Froakie so Serena picked Fennekin and kill it with Greninja out of spite. *drops mic*

  83. So earlier today I was playing Heartgold when out of nowhere, my game froze, I reset it, and I got a message saying my game was corrupted and my file would be deleted. I even tried putting it in another DS to see if that would work. No luck ;~;
