Smell Ya Later 2014! Here’s to 2015!

It is now 2015 for me here in Japan, but for many of you there are still a few more hours with which to bid 2014 farewell.

This was a big year for Pokémon with the announcement of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on May 7th and their subsequent release in late November globally. Many fans had eagerly awaited a remake of Hoenn and the games were well received with the graphical updates and region improvements. They even brought some new Mega Evolutions, such Mega Slowbro and Mega Audino, as well as introducing the special Primal Reversion mechanic for Groudon and Kyogre.

A new film also came out this year, Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction which hit Japanese theaters in July and premiered in English during November in the lead-up to ORAS. Like all the Pokémon movies since Spell of the Unown, I took a pass, but I’m sure some of you enjoyed it 🙂

So what’s in store for 2015? A lot! Pokkén Tournament will be debuting in Japanese arcades and features fighting mechanics with high quality 3D models for the Pokémon brawlers. We also have a new Pokémon movie to look forward to which will reveal Hoopa (finally). Finally, there is a great likelihood that the third game in the Pokémon X & Y saga will be revealed and released!

What are your favorite memories from 2014 and what are you most excited about in 2015? Share in the comments!

  2. Well, I’ll be taking an unofficial hiatus for the next few months, as I want to focus on school and devote time to other websites. I’ll come by every once in a while, but I won’t comment very often anymore. Adieu.

  3. I bet they milk Gen six like a Miltank for another two years. Hoopa won’t be revealed until next year officially and then all that’s left us Volcanion. I’m still convinced they’ll remake the originals for Volcanion because of the Cinnabar Volcano eruption.

  4. Hey guys. It’s been a while, although this is out of my control, but my Disqus on my main computer isn’t working. I’ve already tried clearing my cache and my browsing history and stuff like that, but it isn’t working. That doesn’t give me as much freedom to go on PJN, since the only thing that works is my iPad.

Anyways, besides that, I think that my favorite moments of 2014 had to be the release of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and definitely becoming a part of the PJN Staff. Becoming staff has been a dream of mine ever since I first joined the website in February 2013, and saw how wonderful and loving all of you were.

In 2015, I think I’m most looking forward to the next game in the Pokemon franchise, and just how much more this community will expand as we add new faces to the family, and see some returning faces as well.

With that said, I hope you guys have a very Happy New Year and I wish you all the best for 2015. I’m definitely looking forward to bringing you guys some new content as the New Year rolls in, and work on continuing to keep PJN an organized, friendly community.

Much love from your favorite Dedenne. <3

  7. Idina Menzel could NOT reach that last note in Let It Go when she preformed it in Times Square about 10 minutes ago.
    She was literally screaming.

  8. Happy New year everyone! this year has had many ups and downs, but no matter what has happened over the year I’m still very happy. I haven’t been on here as much as I use to be but I like coming in and stopping by, PJN is the place I met the friends who I still talk with and for that I’ll always be happy and hope to share many more years with them and on this site. As for my new years resolution I’ve thought it over so many times, and I’m not sure what it should be because I’m already in the process of going after my dreams and goals, as well as working on things I should.Though I still have a lot to learn and things to figure out about myself and I know there are some things I need to change and work on as well. So my resolution is to become a better me 🙂 cheers to an even better year and heck not just next year but from now on too!
