I don’t mean by the fanbase, I meant by Nintendo and Gamefreak. BW2 were released to a Japanese audience during summer, and and the rest of the world got them in October. Then in January, BAM, XY announced, and all attention focused to the upcoming generation of games on the new hardware. They had roughly 6 months in the prime spotlight – that was it. Online support for BW2 also really did not last long before the older servers were taken down. They were a beautiful swan song for the DS, but a swan song nonetheless.
