I’ve become more on board with the idea as we’ve learned more about it, and yes, a grass/bug MegaMaganium would be really cool. But why on Earth would Meganium be grass/rock? Haha, and Typhlosion Fire/Ground? umm… Yes, adding better types would be cool, but I just had to disagree with the ones you suggested, sorry.

It would be awesome, assuming they are fair and do it to all of the starters. Just imagine if they made Mega Charizard and Mega Blastoise…. but didn’t make Mega Venusaur, That is my biggest concern. It wouldn’t really be fair and it takes out the fun in starters, being you can pick your favorite and they have the same total stats and none are favored in the game.

For that matter, I wish they would give ALL Pokemon mega-evolutions, because it makes the ones that don’t get mega-evos less desirable than the ones that do. I know that some pokemon are better stat wise, but in game that would never stop me from using, say Altaria. However, Mega-evolution is clearly a feature that I’m going to wants to use, and if Altaria doesn’t get one that it makes her lame in comparison. I don’t know, I’m excited, but I see a good chance that GameFreak will start playing favorites if that makes sense.

Based on the fact in the trailer, they have the rainbow helix from the japanese covers over their heads, you may be right.

That seems to be what is suggested on the official website. That the stone is just the beginning of unlocking it.

According to the newly-updated official English site, it is indeed “mega”. That’s not the worst possible name by far, though.
