To add more to my thoughts, some people noticed that the Kanto Pokemon that received Alolan forms had interesting former Pokedex entries that their Alolan forms called back to (Exeggutor being taller with more sunlight and Marowak howling for its dead mother come to mind). The Oddish line doesn't say anything remarkable, but Victreebel's entry in Red specifically says it grows in massive colonies deep in remote jungles. Nothing too out of the ordinary, you may say, but it does give GF something to call back to if they were making an Alolan Bellsprout line.

Bellsprout line was Grass/Poison too. Everyone seems to be forgetting this… They fit the tropical theme at a lot better and have more room to be redesigned, considering that Oddish already got a split evo in Gen II and that same evo already looks like it belongs in Hawaii. I think it would just make way more sense to focus on Bellsprout, Weepinbel, and Victreebel.

Oddish getting Alolan forme would too good to be true though. So that means Alolan Vileplume and Alolan Bellosoom wow. Would be surprised if its Bellsprout line instead.

this might be a longshot but i’m hoping the grass/poison type in question is Bulbasaur, and then by extension we get Alolan forms for Charmander and Squirtle too. something like that would certainly justify this long of a wait before the reveal…

So if the Oddish line gets alolan forms, do you think it will include bellossom getting one as well? I think they should atleast give it dancer as a hidden ability. I think Alolan Oddish could be Grass/Fire, Grass/Rock, or Grass/Ground. Grass/Rock and Grass/Ground could be good types to represent the fact that it’s environment has completely changed. For some reason I think gamefreak is going to make it Grass/Fairy or Grass/Dark.Then again it’s just a rumor and should be taken with a grain of salt. I just want good move tutors. I also want some more Pokemon to get Wide guard and Quickguard.

Alolan Bellsprout makes more sense since it has only one evolutionary line or even an Alolan Victribell as they did to exeggcute changing only it’s final form
