I never knew the Pokémon games existed until I was 10. Before I thought only the anime and cards existed. I loved watching the anime as a kid.
When some other kid showed Pokémon Diamond to me I was like…
“THERE’S A VIDEO GAME?”
So that Christmas I got Pokémon Diamond which started my love for Pokémon (and my slow lost of interest in Bionicle).

Also, I found a shiny Magikarp during my playthrough but traded it for a normal eevee because I didn’t realize it was SUPER rare, so that started my love for shiny hunting.
