Well, every new region has some hint in a previous game singe Gen 6.
XY had the Strange Souvenir as a hint to Alola.
LGPE an UK map (I think) as a hint to Galar.
And that League Card background is an illustration in an Indian art style.

As you can see in the links in my tweet, they had an Alolan Exeggutor poster in ORAS and a Gigantamax Toxtricity poster in SM. Not to mention, Detective Grookey believes that League Card background in itself is a hint towards an India region.
