Yes you can get many torchics, one per resetting of the entire game, I did it on my spare X which I restarted to get extra Charizardite X. I’m at the office though, so I can’t show pictures of my multiple blazikens in red and black pokeballs.

I leave the grass and go deeper into the forest and it still tries to evolve lol
