In reply to heavymetallamb. but if you want the oval charm, you don't have the have obtained every pokemon. Just "SEE all of the ones in centrail/mountain/coastal dexes and talk to sycamore and you'll get the oval charm

To obtain the Shiny Charm item is going to now get increasingly hard or even easy for some. Because what most don’t know is that:

– You can obtain the Charm without ever seeing Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Shaymin, Darkrai, Arceus, Keldeo, Meloetta, Genesect. Those Poke’s aren’t needed to be seen for the Shiny Charm because their usually event exclusive and ribbon carriers.

-To get Shiny Charm you have to have OBTAINED EVERY POKEMON besides the ones at the top, NOT SEEN.. OBTAINED… This was confirmed by Serebii and a Reddit User http://4x.reddit.com/r/SVExchange/comments/1tpo6c/obtaining_the_shiny_charm_in_x_and_y/
