You should definitely try it! Even if you don’t normally like fighting games I think you’d enjoy it, especially with friends. And don’t worry, there will be no hitting, I’ll have Jigglypuff use Rest.

It would have been announced in Japan, not to mention that they would have been proclaiming “Get a Pokémon that will unlock secrets in the upcoming X & Y games!” from the beginning if that were the case. It seems pretty clear that they will not unlock anything.
