I have a Sceptile named Crunchy he was all the way from Sapphire ( so he’s almost 12 years old! he went trough all the games, LG,Pearl HG,BW.W2 ect. hes really important to me ( sound silly right?) I really feel proud of him, he;s even a father of a shiny Sceptile called Crunchy.jr 🙂

Same here! Except I had Rapphire.

Man, I kept my Sceptile through the years after getting to level 100 on my Sapphire; hopefully you find that cartridge! I remember losing my Platinum cartridge with my first Pokemon on it, but thankfully I found it for Black. Same old Sceptile on my team though, he’s been a great ‘friend’ through the ages.

Haha, I think that was my exact mindset at the time as well! Torchic didn’t appeal to me because it seemed like a girl’s choice, and Mudkip just seemed odd; I guess it was because I had only seen the sprite of it, since he really grew on me after a while. I’d think Swampert and Blaziken changed my mind about the other two, but I remain loyal to Sceptile!

I know right? I remember the same feeling about Grovyle, but I got used to Sceptile; sure, it’s not as interesting as they could do, but once I learned more about the actual design, I fell in love eventually.

My first level 100 was my Sceptile, whom I had named “Jumper” and constantly used Leaf Blade. I actually passed that Sceptile on from my first playthrough all the way to Black/white; he’s seen every single Pokemon game since my first playthough! It seems sad that the 3rd generation is passed over so much though.

then Gen 4. As great as the physical/special split was sceptile is one Pokemon that was left forever changed. Its signature move, and other common go-to sets where taken from it replaced with adequate replacements that just aren’t the same.

treecko line was one of my favorites and in many ways still is, but Gen 3 treecko line is left r.i.p.
