It was kinda a generalized statement, yep. xD I was gonna go with “shark torpedoes” or “dancing cactus” but I figured Pikachu would be easier to explain xD

I just think that feels a little too complicated– Quagsire is clearly a Japanese giant salamander, and its babies look identical to an Axolotl. I think it was probably inspired by an Axolotl in specific, but the family was based off of the Japanese giant salamander.

Still! Nobody knows– so thanks 😀

But Axolotl’s do undergo metamorphosis, when injected with iodine, so Wooper should be based off an axolotl! Look it up if you don’t belive me!

As always, great article. The only thing I have to say really is when you mention us not having yellow rats, I assume your referring to Pikachu. And on that note, Pikachu is, from what I can tell, based of of the animal called a Pika(strangely enough) which is a very small mouse looking member of the rodent family who have actually been known to have a yellowish brown tent to their fur. I actually got to see one at a zoo in Loveland, Colorado. You could see the obvious resemblance to Pikachu, besides a lightning bolt tail and red cheeks. Just thought I’d feel everyone in, and yes I know it was meant as a joke when you said the comment about no yellow rats.

Amazing article! I always thought that Wooper was cute but I never liked it, nor Quagsire. However, the pictures that you used make me want to have them now because they look all happy looking. Thankx for the article! Can’t wait for the next!

p.s.-Eevee is a must! Please consider…(any pokemon will do. I still enjoy all the articles.)
