I agree with you 110% The Game Cube was one of the best consoles if not the best. Everythign was awsome especially the shape of it xD.

I won’t even mention how they could cash in on Smash Brothers with the chip.

Nintendo could do something much bigger with Pokémon on the Wii U other than an RPG. If they took the Skylanders route, using the NFC chip, not only could they sell the software, there’s the potential for selling 650+ Pokémon figurines to use on in the game – the profits would be ridiculous. I suppose you could also link that into an RPG.

There’s also the option of selling special trading cards with NFC chips built in, that can also be used in the Official TCG. Thus bringing the TCG back to Nintendo’s consoles.

Having NFC built in just opens so many doors for NIntendo to create a HUGE franchise or add to an existing franchise. Another example I’ve just thought of, they could also use the chip to read Nintendo Points cards/DLC cards that you purchase from retailers, to save you entering a code.

I completely agree with you, as my previous comment says. I think what makes matters is worse is that it’s going to be utterly predictable. Again.

It’ll be the same release pattern we’ve seen for games for Wii, but with a few “hardcore” ports thrown into the mix.

As for the reply @JudgeDreddigon posted, see above. It’s sadly all predictable what we’re going to see. Nintendo need to get some new first part IPs, and stop relying on third parties to develop games that appeal to more than the “family” audience. Your point about 3DS software completely backs up all what I’ve just said.

Well, yeah sales are really all that matter to them. They know that people are going to buy the Wii U (or at least they hope they will).

Thing with the Gamecube is that there were other consoles around at the time that did the same things a lot better, in regards to gameplay, graphics and everything.

The Wii however sort of has its own market. Both the PS3 and 360 are heaps better in terms of gameplay, graphics and pretty much in every other aspect, but because the Wii has it’s own niche in the gaming world (Family gaming—”Together”) it sells bucket loads. There’s also the price point.

The biggest problem I can see with Wii U, which I’ve also read elsewhere, is that because the name is so similar to the Wii, people are going to think “I’ve already got one of those, I don’t need another”, mainly people who aren’t well informed of course.

I guess it’ll all work out in time. Just as of yet I don’t have a reason to need/want a Wii U and the same goes for 3DS.
