Just battling all the trainer gives you a really unfair level advantage, which lets you defeat everyone easily. Never had problems with the E4, let alone gym leaders.

Also because you have access to a limited amount of Pokemon. Either fighting dudes + Timburr need to be at least 20+ before you can safely take her Watchog out because of Retaliate…
