How can you recommend HG/SS over Platinum? not including the gimmicky kanto section, HG/SS is way to short, the wild pokemon are way to low, the abundance of kanto pokemon (even in johto) is REALLY frustrating. the only good thing about HG/SS is after e4. but, as someone else mentioned, it is a chore and not all that fun to get there.

Platinum’s story is great, the gameplay is much more fun and the selection of pokemon is much better

I suppose its personal taste, but thats my two cents

Yeah platinum> hg. They both had their ups and downs but kanto really did ruin hg for me, its just so terribly mind numbing that it really does bring down the experience. Platinum was a much more complete game IMO
