This is an excerpt from a website-
he Egyptian deity Osiris in India was called Yama (Control), since he was the controller of death by being the controller of the breath of life (prana-yama). This also relates Yama to Asar, since as Asura, he would hence be the ‘Asu-ra’ (Ruling-breath), the Ruler of Breath or Life and Death as Pranayama etc., relating to the same.
‘Desumasu’ translates to Death mask- this new name is a re-translation of that moniker.

I finally figured out Druddigon!
It’s two words Dragon + Rudd
ruddy (ˈrʌdɪ)

— adj , -dier , -diest
1. (of the complexion) having a healthy reddish colour, usually resulting from an outdoor life
2. coloured red or pink: a ruddy sky

Fun fact: Ruddy in British slang means damned.
Actually it’s cool they went Old English for it gives the beastie a past dating back to the time of knights.

Actually the sneaking of German into Pokemon names was clever as they used words from other countries in this gen and it reflects the International intent for New York which these games are based.
