I think all the starters of every generation are equal. I obviously prefer some to others but none are ‘better’, ‘worse’ or ‘worthless’ to me. I personally like Smugleaf more than Pokabu or Mijumaru because it has a unique personality. Pokabu and Mijumaru are cute but Smugleaf has this superior essence that I find unique to the series.

As for the evolutions, they’re all ‘meh’ level to me. I’m dumping my starter as soon as I can because I don’t like any of them. I had high hopes for Pokabu and expected something much more ninja of Mijumaru but that’s how it goes. Most people who raged at the ‘rumour starter evos that we said were false are confirmed true’ seem to accept them now but I just don’t like them.
