Upcoming News to Watch: Nintendo Direct & Pokémon Smash!

Tomorrow, April 21st (12:00pm Japan time), there will be another Nintendo Direct event hosted by Nintendo President Iwata. Although it’s slated to focus on Wii/3DS news we will be doing a live translation of any relevant information. NL will be with us for that

Then… April 29th (7:00am Japan time) will be the a Pokémon Smash episode! They’ll be showing off Keldeo in Black and White 2 so we might see some brand new game footage. One of our translators will also be there to do live Japanese to English information Kriff is unavailable, but maybe I can do something as entertaining as his nuggets were last week. We’ll see. Incidentally, I was asleep last week for arguably the biggest Smash episode we’ve seen yet because I… partied too hard. And slept until 2pm. WHOOPS. No excessive drinking on Saturday night this time (EDIT: As a wonderful commentor pointed out, I had the date for this wrong. We will still be covering Smash tomorrow in hopes for new information though!)

AU Lucario & JP Ducklett C-Gear!

And, for today’s “WiFi Downloads” post! Australian users get a Lucario (password: LUCAEUROGAMERNET) which is the same one that has made its rounds in other regions, it has the ability ‘Justified’ and the attack ‘Bullet Punch’. Next, Japanese B/W owners get to download this adorable Ducklett C-Gear Skin! Maybe not my cup of tea, but I’m sure some will appreciate it. No password need for it!

What do you guys think? Any pkmn you want to see up for download soon? I’d love to get a special Weezing from PGL :p

Nintendo Direct Press Conference Tomorrow!

Tomorrow Nintendo will host an online press conference and we’ll be there with our two in-house translators, Kriff & NL! This is not a Pokemon event, they’re likely going to cover Fire Emblem 3DS, Kid Icarus, and maybe Nobunaga’s ambition.

Nonetheless, we’ll be right there to cover anything interesting that pops up I’m also a huge Fire Emblem fan so I’m quite excited for information about the newest title (coming April in Japan)!

ps- I will be going back to America for 1 week next month! Luckily I’ll be able to buy Nobunaga’s Ambition the day it comes out and take it on the plane with me ;D

Klink C-Gear Skin (JP) & Arceus (English)

Alas, yet another Japan-only C-Gear skin! Those of us with English games will just have to wait it out… I still want my crustle! I do think this is a pretty well done skin though, lends itself nicely to the whole c-gear concept as well If you have the Japanese game, you can download this NOW without any password!

Arceus is now available for download! You can go to the Global Link website and enter the password ”ARCEUSVOTE” to get it. No special moves, no hidden ability. Just… the PokéGod in all its glory. I actually don’t have it though, so I’m cool with this ;D

Rayquaza Conquers All

Last year, Japan had a big vote to decide which main game mascot was the best, that included all 15 Pokémon, from Green (Venusaur) to White (Zekrom). As you can probably guess from the title, Rayquaza came in at #1!

Starting Feb 10th (and running through the 27th), Japanese BW owners can get the legendary dragon at a Japanese PokeCenter. It’s quite unique and comes maxed out at level 100. It also has the moves ExtremeSpeed, Dragon Pulse, Hyper Beam, and V-CREATE!! Interesting move set to be sure… It’s also holding a Life Orb
