My Top 10 Favorite Spooooopy Pokemon! What's yours?

Recommended Posts

Green    90

This is continuing Poekoko's series, My Top 10 Favorite _____! What's yours? We're gonna alternate making them.

So anyway, Let's get into the Halloween mood with MY TOP 10 FAVORITE SPOOPY POKEMON! (Pls don't judge my writing skills. I'm good at writing, but this is informal so I'm writing how I talk.)

10. Shedinja  Shedinja sprite from Emerald

At one point in time, Shedinja was my favorite Pokemon. It's ability is really fun to use and strategize with. Also it can absorb your soul into it's back... which faces the trainer.... so....

9. Jellicent (Male)  Jellicent sprite from Black & White

Jellicent brings the legend of the Kraken into Pokemon, The fate of the ships and crew that wander into Jellicent's habitat: all sunken, all lost, all vanished. Yeah. The reason I like Male Jellicent more though is because he's literally Pringles Man. So yeah, his design and Pokedex entry. Also the shiny is BEAUTIFUL.

8. Mismagius  Mismagius sprite from Platinum

Its cries sound like incantations. Those hearing it are tormented by headaches and hallucinations. This one genuinely makes me uncomfortable. Headaches are painful. I get them really often. They're usually short, but painful still. A Pokemon that randomly gives people headaches would be disturbing, to say the least. You'd just be walking through the woods and this thing will give you pain for the heck of it. Geez.

7. Banette Banette sprite from Ruby & Sapphire

A doll that became a Pokémon over its grudge from being junked. It seeks the child that disowned it. Ok. Think about the ages of kids who play with dolls. 1-6 right? Yeah okay, it looks for a little kid and it wants to torment its soul or worse, I assume. That's a lot for a child to handle.

6. Phantump  Phantump sprite from X & Y

Yet another Pokemon involving dead things. And kids. According to old tales, these Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died while lost in the forest. So yeah. They literally mentioned dead kids in this one. It's not a scary Pokemon, in fact, it's really cute, it's just that the dex entry really gets you into the Halloween SPIRIT!

5. Drifloon  Drifloon sprite from Diamond & Pearl

I'm a little kid and I'm walking through a park and I'm all like, "Oh yeah (Mr. Krabs). I'm gonna take this balloon! Lalalalala-wait.... what's going on.... MOMMMMMMMYYYY!!!!!" Why Drifloon? Why?

4. Lampent  Lampent sprite from Black & White

The spirits it absorbs fuel its baleful fire. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on. It hangs around hospitals waiting for people to pass on.

3. Cacturne   Cacturne sprite from Ruby & Sapphire

Packs of them follow travelers through the desert until the travelers can no longer move. Oooooh. Mysteeeerious... No. Not mysterious. Why would something like Cacturne follow traveller's in a desert. 1) Desert traveller's get weak, so they will not fight back. Smart. 2) In the desert, no one can hear you scream. One might say, "Lampent's dex entry is definitely darker than Cacturne's," but I like cacti. Don't judge.

2. Litwik Litwick sprite from Black & White

Litwik's dex entry is pretty weird, considering it's so cute, but still want's to eat your soul. But I've recently developed a liking to this Pokemon's design, Probably because it looks like an emo teen like me Mostly because of how cute, but menacing it is.

1. Gorebyss  Gorebyss sprite from Ruby & Sapphire

Although Gorebyss is the very picture of elegance and beauty while swimming, it is also cruel. When it spots prey, this Pokémon inserts its thin mouth into the prey's body and drains the prey of its body fluids. Gorebyss first on this list because it represents deep sea creatures really well, beautiful, but deadly. I love the ocean and deep sea creatures fascinate me. I also love when GameFreak does Pokemon that stay true to real life creatures. This Pokemon is both.

So yeah, What are yours?

No particular order.

Gengar. The original Ghost, and Shadow pokemon. Everything from it's design, and moveset I've loved about it, only annoying thing for me about him, has been the trade to evolve. Great if you're in a big city, but not when you live out in the sticks. (Like Me.)

Murkrow. My Crow-baby. I love crows, really liked the way it looks all witchy and such. However, hate it's evolution. But on the plus side, Crow!

Houndoom. The Devildog! Fire, Brimstone, a bark, and a bite. Only way this doggie could be cooler is if they gave him three head. (Always hoped for a final evo where this happened, but then Mega-evos ruined that dream.)

Sableye! The why-you-no-rock/ghost!! I love the gem-eyed little gremlin. Something very alien about it too. Also, I used it to beat wally's ralts senseless back on the original games, so that was always fun.

Dusclops. The original Mummy ghost. I liked this pokemon, everyone seemed to love Banette more. While Banette may be cooler with it's backstory, I always liked the clops more.

Drifloon/Drifblim. The haunted Balloon??? Always makes me laugh the idea of a haunted balloon, and I loved how great in battle it was for me.

Froslass. The Dead Frozen Girl (let it go). Always amused me that it evolves when you expose Snorunt to a Dawn Stone. She has a wonderful Kimono too

Rotom. The Motormadness. It's always weird when machines move by themselves, I use to have a tv that switched itself on without anyone touching the remote, or set. Use to joke and say that the ghosts were watching tv. Can't wait for the Rotom-dex.

Spiritomb. The my-goodness-what-do-I-have-to-do-again-to-find-one-of-you!!!! I remember seeing one of these broken lava lamp pokemon, and knew it had to be mine, again back in the day lack of people around here made it a very hard pokemon to get.

Litwick line. The flickin' candle of your life. I love the litwick, FireGhost was something I wanted for ages in pokemon. Don't think I ever thought of something this cool for that type combo, same for....

Frillish/Jellicent. The Jellyfish pokemon we all deserved, but not the tentacool we got......

Golurk. The 101000101. 5th gen was really great for ghost pokemon for me. I wanted to use soooooo many. Also, Ground/Ghost pokemon, that can use fly.....hell yeah!

Honedge line. And My sword!! I loved the ghost sword from first sight. I expected a suit of armour much like Golurk, but more steely. But still, love the whole family.
