ps- we’re all still alive

In case anyone was wondering ;D  I’ve been busy since a friend of mine from out of state is in town with some of his college classmates and we’ve been having fun plus a bunch of other stuff.  Also I’ve been accepted into an English college in Tokyo, Japan for the Spring ’11 semester so right now my plan is to leave the US mid-December to move into my dorm.  I kept this whole process under wraps because I didn’t want to look stupid if I didn’t end up making it in :p  I’m *extremely* excited about this.

As far as site stuff goes… we still have a few more focus on articles to pump out.  I will be covering Grass and Bug… Daigo will be doing Ground… and NL wants another shot at writing one as well.

What I’d really love to do is have access to all the animated Black and White sprites so I can revamp PokePet to include all of them and make a mini-site for it.  Ah well.  I’ll continue to be patient.

New Pokemon Game!

Hey Pokejunglers!

Wow…uh…that was fast. Only a few hours after that post where I said I wouldn’t expect anything, a new game is announced.

So as we know, earlier today Nintendo officially gave the details on the 3DS, but it looks like we missed a little bit of info that was also in the conference. As well as the 3DS deets, Nintendo also announced a few Wii and DS games that are to come out in the near future. One of these announced titles was Battle & Get! Pokemon Typing DS. Basically it’s a minigame packed title that is specifically geared to teach the player how to type on a westernized keyboard. Like all of the other past Pokemon games, it’s designed for children, but instead of catching them all by battling, defeating Gym Leaders etc. etc. you have to spell. The game was developed by the people behind Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD and Pokemon Battle Revolution, and apparently a wireless keyboard will come along with the bundle, so no touch screen fun from what we can tell. The game is set for release in Japan for Janurary 2011.

Sounds fun right? I’m guessing you’re thinking “…..uh…spelling? NO.” Well I am too. icon razz New Pokemon Game! Lucky for those who are like me and hate spelling, thinking and actually doing school work in a videogame, (*cough* Brain Age *cough*) because this game is learning how to translate Japanese Kana to English using typing skills, there’s a very slim chance that the game will even make it to America.

Pokemon Smash!

Hey Pokejunglers!

I know this is kinda random and ”off topic” considering Pokemon Black and White coverage is going on as we speak, but this is just for people who want some more Pokemon news and not to mention I had to get past a Reshiram and a Zekrom so I could get this info. </over dramatic> Anyways after 6 years of airing on TV, Pokemon Sunday will have it’s last show on September 26th. But, they’re not getting cancelled, instead they are getting re-branded to Pokemon Smash! They will still have the same hosts, the only change is new clothes, new studio (see picture) and Chimchar and Lucario will be replaced by Gen V Pokemon. They’ll still be giving us Pokemon News like they always do though!

Before I doze off~ (UPD)

Here are some parting tidbits of information:

  • When we learned that there were “missions” you could undertake we saw that rewards came in the form of “Deru Power“, but we had no idea what this was.  It has now been revealed that it can make wild pokemon easier to capture and also raise the experience points your pokemon earn after a battle.

  • Details on TM43: Nitro Charge [Fire, Physical / Power: 50 / Accuracy: 100% / Raises user's speed after attacking] (TM Page) Note: Interestingly enough Shimama, the electric zebra, learns this fire attack at lv18

Aaaaaaaaand… I think that’s all I have off the top of my head for now.  Frankly my passion is bringing fast news and I’ve found covering Black/White to be a little less fun than digging through 2ch and Japanese blogs for news about it.  Weird, huh?
