Japanese “Famitsu Cup” Tournament Coming!

If you haven’t, make sure to check up on our Rugged Mountain details as well as the Autumn Deerling C-Gear skin password!

For those of you who don’t know, Famitsu is a popular gaming magazine published in Japan.  They’re partnering with Pokemon to present an official “Famitsu Cup” tournament which will be hosted in December.  Here are some official details:

  • Entry: December 1st – 6th
  • Tournament Duration: December 7th – 11th
  • Battle Style: Single
  • Level: 50 (Pokemon will be scaled down if above, but not scaled up)
  • Participants: Register 3 to 6 pkmn in your Battle Box, 3 may be used per match
  • Restrictions: No legendaries

Anyone think they’ll participate? (Must have a Japanese Black or White copy)

UPD: NEW ‘Rugged Mountain’ Details!

Because we work hard to bring up to the minute Pokémon news for you guys, we’ve unearthed some of the Pokémon available in the newest Dream World area:

  • Spinda (Ability: Contrary / Move: Superpower)
  • Torkoal (Ability: Shell Armor)
  • Rhyhorn (Ability: Reckless)
  • Skorupi (Ability: Keen Eye)
  • Cacnea (Ability: Water Absorb)
  • Mankey (Ability: Defiant)
  • Burmy (Ability: Overcoat)
  • Other Rock/Ground/Fire types

The new area will also be celebrated with a Croagunk download which has the hidden ability Poison Touch and the attack Poison Jab! Password is IGNRuggedMountain!

Pokémon the Movie: Black finally has a trailer

And it’s only 30 seconds?!  Don’t be too disappointed, it’s very similar to the minute-ish trailer that was released in September for the movie’s twin, Pokémon the Movie: White.  There is a new official mini-site for the movie now (Black / White slide the victini back and forth!) which you can visit.  It has also revealed that the movie will premier on Cartoon Network and is set to air December 10th.  So for those of you who can’t make it to a theater, perhaps you can catch it on your TV icon smile Pokémon the Movie: Black finally has a trailer

To promote the new movie, there are various Victini-related things:

  • Victini C-Gear! Password is VICTINI2011 (as previously reported)
  • Victini in Rumble Blast, password is 6699-8898 (page will be updated soon)

ps- A maintenance notice posted on the PGL website revealed that on November 15th all areas will get the Rugged Mountain area (that is the confirmed English name). The site will go down for awhile though, so it may not be immediately accessible when you wake up and want to catch that purdy ‘lil Larvitar.
