The Jungle Games: Episode 1 Results

All I can say is “wow”. We had some great submissions and the audience participation blew me away. Thanks to everyone who voted or left comments!

The people moving on to round 2 are: Shane, Kinganteros, Mechanos, Casey, Stephen, Samual, Dan, Robert, and Sammy. (Hint: That order is arbitrary and not based on score nor article number)

Unfortunately Logan and Nuza died valiantly while fighting some beedrill whose stings are particularly unpleasant. Both of them did well however, so their elimination doesn’t mean they weren’t skilled. My greatest fear when I proposed this public selection process was that feelings would get hurt. I’m happy to say that they made it into the 12 out of 40 and the articles they submitted didn’t disappoint me.

Seriously? 4 MILLION?! (+ Shaymin Contest Winners!)

In June 2010, I moved PJN from an archaic HTML based site to a full-fledged WordPress powered blog in order to cover news more effectively.  It’s been been a little over 20 months since then, but we’ve just hit a total of over 4 million views.  HOLY.  CRAP.  Serebii may get that in, oh, a day, but unlike his mega-site we basically just serve news.  We’ve also had a total of almost 500,000 unique people visit the site!  This is cool news for me, and I hope that you guys feel proud that you’re part of those numbers and what keeps the site going… even when all I have to report is an animated sewaddle graphic.

However, I won’t waste your time with just that.  Shaymin Gratitude Giveaway winners are ready to be announced! All winners have been emailed (PJN) or PM’d (MMC).  I’m not some kind of psycho who would make people check the site again to see if they won :p

Good evening… (or, most likely, morning!)

Going to sleep in the next few minutes zzz.  Just wanted to touch base though icon smile Good evening... (or, most likely, morning!)  Sometimes I like to have a heart-to-heart post to you guys so you know what’s going on behind the scenes here.

  • Sewaddle: It’s from the ketai (cellphone) strap I bought at the Pokemon Center yesterday.  Adorable huh?!  I’m not much of a nerd as far as anime/manga goes, but I’m not afraid to indulge in Pokemon merchandise sometimes haha.  My iPhone has an N strap and now with this sewaddle clipped on as well.  If you’re in Tokyo and you see a guy with this on his iPhone… IT’S ME (maybe).  I posted a pic of the Pkmn Center visit on our Twitter.  Follow?
  • P2Cast: On hold.  Underestimated the amount of time I have to sit down in front of my computer.  Maybe it’s that if I don’t work then I’m not worried about putting clothes on and if I do work then I come home looking like a worn out Pidove…
  • Prof. (wiki): Looking forward to putting a lot more time in this soon icon smile Good evening... (or, most likely, morning!) Really want us to have a community based resource!
  • Upcoming articles: Tomorrow I’m planning to start a new series called Meet the Bushou. Each article will introduce 3 of the Bushou that have been revealed.  We’ll start from the newest that have been revealed icon smile Good evening... (or, most likely, morning!)

RUMOR: Kyurem has a second forme?!

Wow.  I have missed reporting on rumors.  I mean really missed it.  Miss the comments, the speculation, the haters, everything.  But thanks to our friends at PokéBeach we now know that there is definitely possibly a second forme for Kyurem! They cite some ROM data that shows there is a placeholder for the alternate forme. Not super solid evidence, but definitely something worth commenting on. Obviously this would be for the upcoming Pokémon Grey (tentative title).

This has been speculated from, oh, the release of Black and White, but can we finally start speculating on just what exactly this beast looks like?!  I think it’ll look like an ice cube with a dragon head.
