Well, they’ve been “pretty much confirmed” for a while.
Unless they decided to change the designs, those are the final evolutions we are getting.
I’ve been taking them as official since day one honestly. The only reason is because I don’t believe past leaks have had ash and co in them like that
Im fine with them. I know people are saying (myself included) that they wish they would stop giving them jobs and make them just look less humanoid. Today, I had a change of heart. We’ve had humanoid pokemon for a while. Machoke (belt and all) and fighting types especially come to mind immediately. Vespiquen, gardevoir, krookodile, scrafty, zoroark, gothitelle, jynx, MR. Mime, golurk, etc. are all humanoid or have a job in mind as part of their inspiration. Starters adopting this is really a long time coming.
All in all, just make the wrestler fire/dark because you can and should, gamefreak. I dont care if it screams fighting type. Dont do this to us again.
I’ve got nothing against humanoids. I have an issue with making bipeds become humanoid, especially when it results in weird things.
Half that list of yours has prevos that are bipeds.
Only exceptions are Krookodile and Zoroark.

Greninja, Chesnaut and Samurott were unnexpected and maybe Blaziken was a bit unexpected, but I don’t really see what the surprises were for the other ones.

The Sinnoh starters were all based on or variations of mythologies and legends: Infernape on Sun Wukong and Buddhism, Torterra on the World Turtle in Chinese mythology, and Empoleon on a trident used by Poseidon. My favorite trio to date. I also like the classic RPG theme of XY with mage (Delphox), ninja (Greninja), and knight (Chesnaught).
I know about Infernape the moment I saw the design when it was released.

Plot twist: Popplio is based on cannon balls and Rowlett is based on a Dino owl. And actually, birds are the closet living relative to dinosaurs we have today.
Owls are somewhat more modern though.
Only prehistoric owl I could find was flightless.
I knew about the closest living relative thing, hence the Archeopteryx, and hence Archeops (though its ability ruins it).
Rowlett’s final form is expected to be Grass/Ground so that makes a flightless ground owl perfect

Back to the chinese leak, the thing is that it has a lot more evidence than most other leaks. And most newer leaks/fake leaks are just taking stuff from the original chinese leak like the starter leaks, rockruffs evolution and the leaked pokemon and put wild speculation that everyone could come up with on top of it. Because of this, the only leak I still believe in atm is the chinese leak. They have got so much things right (Mallow in the starter evolution character sheets, both sea cucumber and mushroom pokemon, no gyms etc.) that this is just the leak with the most value.
